Twelve kids, all below 10 years of age, clad in white dhoti and sporting a

red and white tilak, representing the twelve Alwars were the cynosure of the

onlookers at a three-day `Divya Dharshanam' state level spiritual exhibition

which commenced at Dr. Chittrambalam Matriculation School at

Srirangam. Organised

by Srimaan Trust, the exhibition endeavours to create an awareness of the

Vaishnavite philosophy and Hindu culture especially among youth. The

children from Srimaan Bhattar Kuzham, a school which teaches Vedas,

Divyaprabhandams and Sanskrit slokas to about 120 boys and girls earnestly

explain the charts and models of temples that are displayed at the show.

Charts presenting the 108 Divya Desangal or the temples in which the Alwars

have sung and worshipped form part of the exhibits. Charts of the 18

Acharyas and information regarding their birth of place, month and star

under which they were born, their disciples, other names that they are

referred as and the books that they have authored, have also been displayed..

Besides, a half an hour video presentation enlightens the audience on Sri

Vishnu Puranam. Along with the exhibition, the Srimaan Trust is also

organising a state level model presentation competition on Saturday and

Sunday. About 20 schools from Chennai, Erode, Salem and Coimbatore are

expected to take part in the contest. The exhibition is on until Sunday

This is a great service.The idea of exibition by the

school children is nice. In the current world of TV ,

the people especially children are more atracted

towards unwanted things.

The bhakthi has also become commercial and self

oriented.People should know the sacrifices of

AzhwArs,our AchAryAs,the kings who have built the

temples etc.,In this direction, the service of the

trust is commendable.

 

Can the video be uploaded for the benefit of others

like us, who could not visit the exibition?
