Guest guest
Jai Shri Krishna, Namaste all guruji's, Happy New year to all, I request all the learned members, to put light on Sri Skanda Purana and Sri Garuda Puran, i.e whether Sri Garuda purana can be kept at home, whether its chapters can be read on regular basis (I am asking, bcoz, generally this is suggested by Brahmins during the 12 days of someone's death) It is told that this is to be started from 8th day onwards of death, and to be completed by 12th day, suggested if someone dies due to chronic ailments or sudden mishap etc, if it is read during this period, the soul attains salvation. Also i want to know abt Sri Skanda Purana or any other reasons I want to know, i.e by reading these puranas on regular basis, appeasment of planets is obtained, or blessings of ancestors etc, please put some light on this thanx Doulat Jai Shri Krishna
Guest guest
Dear Doulat Bhai, Garuda Purana as you rightly mentioned is read when some one passes in the family. Theres a very wrong Bhram (Misunderstanding) in the minds of people, about it not being kept in the house. I brought this for some Planet appeasement in my house, against strict opposition of My own better half, but then read the passages to her, and explained the good, one gets due to regular reading of theis Great Purana. Of cpourse when someone passes away, then the Pundit reading this Purana in the right manner as prescribed, will do good that time, and not our reading. But in regular course if one reads the Garuda Purana once in at least 3 months, then he will fear from committing any sins.I wish to talk more about Garuda Purana another day as just now occupied with some other matter., and also wish to quote from the same. You need not think much about keeping one at home. Go to the nearest Gita press,Book shop and buy one. It is good.and believe me, I talk after having read the same,a couple of times and not from hearsay. About Skanda purana ,again shall talk some other day. Same with MahaBharat, people say one should not keep this epic at home, as it will create fights in the family members, but they carelessly and conveniently forget from where the Bhagavad Gita comes. You cannot then keep Ramayana also at home for similiar reasons if we listen to their arguments. See the world is big, people are many, opinions are many. One should hear his consciences voice and let that decesion stay. If You are interested please remind me about Garuda Purana after a weeks time. regards, Bhaskar. , "doulat1" <doulat1 wrote: > > Jai Shri Krishna, > > Namaste all guruji's, > > Happy New year to all, > > I request all the learned members, to put light on Sri Skanda Purana > and Sri Garuda Puran, i.e whether Sri Garuda purana can be kept at > home, whether its chapters can be read on regular basis (I am > asking, bcoz, generally this is suggested by Brahmins during the 12 > days of someone's death) > > It is told that this is to be started from 8th day onwards of death, > and to be completed by 12th day, suggested if someone dies due to > chronic ailments or sudden mishap etc, if it is read during this > period, the soul attains salvation. > > Also i want to know abt Sri Skanda Purana > > or any other reasons I want to know, i.e by reading these puranas on > regular basis, appeasment of planets is obtained, or blessings of > ancestors etc, please put some light on this > > thanx > > > Doulat > > > Jai Shri Krishna >
