Guest guest
Hi. My name is Russell. I am new here. I have a few questions for anyone that wants to try to answer them. What do you like in pranayama exercises? Why? Where can I get English translations of old tantric texts, and which do you recommend? Do you know of any tantric texts with specific references to sound/nad practices?
Guest guest
Namaste Russel Glad you found us. We have lots to share. I think you will have to let us know about your interests regarding texts. Smami and Shree Maa have translated over 20 Hindu texts. All are available on the web site: www.shreemaa.org. There are also many classes which can be viewed on the site and many evenings at 6:30 PM Pacific time, there are live video / audio feeds of classes Swami teaches. Please visit there and check out the books, then we can talk about specific ones and your questions on each. For example, Swami will be teaching class this Friday thru Sunday on the the first 5 chapters of the Bhavagad Gita, live and in color. The times will be announced here. They will also be stored on the web site to view later. Regarding pranayama, Shree Maa indicated it really balances and harmonized the mind, body, and emotions. She suggests it be done 10 minutes each morning to give harmony throughout the day. Also, if you breath first, meditation will be deeper and more refined. I love the feeling of balance it gives me. There are many types of breathing excercises, so if you have specific questions about one type, ask, and someone will likely practice it and be happy to help you. The folks who post on this club are great folks and will do anything to help you, and, if they do not know the answer, we will go to Swami and Maa for help. Again, welcome, and hope to talk soon.
