Guest guest
Hello all. I am new to all this. I have never been to the ashram or met Shree Maa. I am located in So. Cal. and would like to come to the ashram for darshan and sharing in the atmosphere of the good life style there. I can make a few days available for the trip, but need information about what would be better timing(s) for a visit in the time window of the next few months. Since my ability to visit is limited, what dates/events/calendar timing would you recommend, and why? Russell Shields
Guest guest
Hi Russell, You are very welcome here. Regarding your question about pranayama, I'm wondering why you're asking? Pranayama is a very complex system of practice (of which I have admittedly barely scratched the surface), and the experience of it evolves with the practitioner. It can be understood from within its own context, as a separate discipline, or as an intrinsic part of every spiritual path. It is both a means and an experience. So it would be helpful to know a little more about you, and what you are curious to know, before sharing experiences and ideas with you. You will likely find the path described here quite different than what you are used to. It is different than that of most yoga teachers here in the States. It is, as far as I understand it, much more related to classical Hindu practice than to Yoga as described in either the Yoga Sutras or the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Though Shree Maa does do her "exercises" every morning (the sun salutation) and Swamiji occasionally quotes the Yoga Sutras. I pray you will find whatever it is that you need. Jai Maa!
