While performing a kali puja do we have to undergo any fasting .

Not necessarily. You will define the sankalpa yourself.

 

Question from Sairaaman:

What are all the days that we have to do the kali puja .What is the

ideal time that puja can be done.

Anyday is good for Kali Puja. Specifically the Krishna Paksha Chaturdasi

night. Swamiji , can you please confirm.

When i perform the puja .I chat The mantra like "Om Klim Kalikayai

Namaha .I just wanted to know whether am i chanting correctly.If not

please help me which is the correct mantra to chant

We can chant "Om Krim Kalyai Namah" . The suggested mantra for Kali

Japa is "Om Hrim Shrim Krim Parameshwari Kalike Swaha". Swamiji, please

confirm.

This is a very important one. I am married and when I perform the puja

of kali can my wife also participate in this

I perform my puja in my office .Is it advisable to wear trousers and

shirt when i do the puja or should i have to wear a dhoti.

 

Swamiji's response:

It is best to wear loose fitting clothing so you can sit for a longer

time.

What prashad do I have to offer Kali maa at the time of puja .

 

Swamiji's response:

It depends on the occasion. It can range from one piece of fruit to a

meal cooked with 14 kinds of vegetables.However, there are special

Apart from this (Om Krim Kalikayai Namah) I dont chant any other mantras

of kali ,I dont know .I wanted to chant the kali sahasranama .But these

mantras are in sanskrit its very difficult for me to get a book in

english.Is there any book which comes in english.

Hi,

 

My name is Andy. I live in Nashville, TN and i'm new to this group but i have great devotion for Kali that i'm continously yearning to grow.

 

I read about a simple mantra in "Kali - the Black Goddess of Dakshineswar" - the mantra being "Om Krim Kali". I do 8 rounds of japa daily using that mantra (4 in the morning when i wake, and 4 in the evening before i goto sleep) - in addition to four rounds of hare krishna mantra. Can anyone confirm for me if the Kali mantra mentioned above is a good mantra to invoke Kali into my being?
