Guest guest
Well... I don't know how widely you stretch your definition of Vaidik, but if we take it to mean sastra written/compiled by vyasa, then you can (for starters) look at Bhagavat Purana, Visnu Purana, Bhagavat Gita. If you are looking at purely vaidik texts as in the 4 vedas then how about Rg Veda (1.12.164.31)-- apaSyaM gopAm aNipadyamA namA... Also ChAndogya Upanisad (8.13.1)-- SyamAc chabalam prapadye... in Bhagavat the famous sloka (1.3.28) ete camsakalah pumsah krsnas tu bhagavan svayam Also in Narada Pancaratra many slokas are there describing the divinity of Krsna. So many references... If you will not accept these, then surely at some point you will end up burdened and confused by many other sources. I don't see why people don't accept. You can go to Vraja and meet many sad guru's/siddha bhakta/paramhamsa bhaktas who are all devotees of krsna. And though I laud your faith in mulapramana at the same time, you can experience it for yourself by their presence alone. An uttama adhikari bhakta is one whose mere presence makes one chant the names of Krsna. -Acyutananda Dasa vedic astrology, Anand <anand.ghurye wrote: > > Dear Ila devi Dasi MVS , > > Can you please give a reference from the Vedas where Krishna is mentioned please ? Is it because Lord Shiva is Asutosh(easily pleased). Also I have heard that in the Shiva purana it is stated that Lord Shiva is supreme.Ofcourse in the Ganesh Purana has stated that Ganesh is supreme. > > Now ofcourse there are 18 puranas which are divided into 6 catagoris according to the gunas. Six in Tama guna, six in Raja guna and six in satva guna. The Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavat Gita are in Satva guna. In non of the Shiva purana or linga purana's does Shiva call himself a vaishnava. Another question if Shiva is a vaishnava, then why doesn't he spot the same vaishnava emblem on his forehead ? > That which exists is One, sages call it by various Names- That is what the Rig Veda proclaims. Each of us will be attracted by a concept of divinity and choose a mode of worship pertaining to our past impressions and gunas. Isn't that obvious ? Are we living in a well here ? Just look around the world and you can see numerous paths. Sectarianism can only make one narrow minded and one doens't need scriptural quotes to say that. > > > acyutanandadasa <acyutanandadasa > vedic astrology > Wednesday, 3 January 2007 8:31:49 AM > [vedic astrology] Re: The special quality of 14 mukhi Rudraksha (An opinion) > > Instead of trying to please Lord Shivji by wearing Rudraksa, why not > worship that object of his devotion.
