Guest guest
So is my figuring correct: That would be 2.5 malas a day with 5 days to make up. And how does the pole work when it says yes yes Debi shubalanddurga (AT) aol (DOT) com wrote: How wonderful to receive these blessed opportunities. Guest guest
Yep, that's about right. The pole form requires two fields. It's usually a yes and a no, but we have no need for a no vote, so both are yes. Jai Maa! Guest guest
OK That explains it. Thanks! also is my figuring correct is it 3 mala a day? Guest guest
Yes, Debi. Three a day for three hundred sixty days equals one hundred and eight thousand. Only one hundred per mala are counted. One lakh is one hundred thousand, but usually there is an additional amount done as an offering (ten percent). I don't know if we should add an additional ten percent, or not. That would bring the total to one hundred ten thousand. Perhaps Nanda could find out for us. My advice would be to begin with the minimum number of malas, with the idea that you will increase the number per day as time passes. Then you will not have to worry if you have to miss a few days here and there. Jai Maa! Guest guest
is there by any chance, any audio file on the internet - so we can hear how the mantra is supposed to sound. That would be very helpful for the less initiated such as myself - whocan be all but assured of butchering much of the pronuciations :-( namaste, andy nashville_spirituality http://www.belieftnet.com http://www.vivisectioninfo.org http://www.idausa.org http://www.peta.com http://www.veganoutreach.org Chris Kirner <chriskirner1956 > Friday, January 5, 2007 8:48:20 PM Re: [www.ShreeMaa.org] New poll for Yes, Debi. Guest guest
I'm sorry to ask so many questions but I desire to do things as correctly as posible and as so much of this is so new to me I am full of them. This shld be last ? in this regard. When doing mantras weither this or another do we need to state Sankalpa Om adya jam...before it? Do we put om in front of each mantra stated the svaha after? Thank You, Debi Debra McDaniel <student61754 > wrote: Thank you Chris, Helpful information for all of us. Appreciate you taking the time to help. Guest guest
Hi Debi, Please don't apologize for asking questions. That's part of the reason we're all here, after all. Unless someone takes this question to Swamiji, I going to venture a response. Swamiji has said that the efficacy of any practice is increased if we say a sankalpa first. As far as saying OM and swaha, I would say no. Just say the mantra as it is written unless you (or we) receive other instructions from Maa or Swamiji. Generally, the swaha ending is used at the fire to give the mantra to the fire as an offering (though some mantras end in swaha, apparently). Jai Maa!
