Guest guest
Dear All ! Update as promised: We're delighted to let you know that the mum who was finding some pressure from the medical people to undergo medical induction procedures has happily delivered a 8.5lb little girl in fine condition. Key points: * Delivery time 35 minutes from onset of regular contractions * Complete energy recovery between contractions of about 1 min duration * Mother reports no feeling of trauma at all, 2 hours later she mentioned that she wanted to take part in our fitness program on Monday morning * Mother and Father report placenta healthy with all membranes intact * Mother and Father report no bleeding * Mother reports much improved experience this time (4 previous children) Our considerations * The mother was greatly comforted by the comments made by our group members -- she had previously felt quite intimidated by thoughts of chemical induction * The writers are very convinced that many mothers, at least in this country, suffer from sudden loss of fitness during delivery because of cardiovascular incompetency. * Diet during pregnancy is a major influence on outcomes * Sesame oil (cold pressed, massaged daily) seems to be a significant factor in preventing tissue damage during pregnancy and delivery. * We'd love to see more focus on reversing the trend towards delivery interventions. We're lucky to have the input from this group - Dr Bate, Lisa and others. There are two more mums to deliver in the next month. Please let us know if you are interested in more information.
