Guest guest
Dear Advaitins, There is an interesting video presentation on how the matter is baffling quantum physicists. The experiment has raised certain questions about the matter ie is it a particle? or is it a wave? and most interestingly, why it changes its behaviour when it is being 'aware!??' that it is being observed! You can watch this five minutes video in the following link. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4237751840526284618 Whenever i hear such news that space, matter etc. are baffling scientists(with due respect and humility for finest minds) i humm our acharya's sloka on maya sannapya sanna.... :-) Yours in Sri Ramakrishna, Br. Guest guest
Vinayaka-ji, I have not checked the link. But I would want to make a small note here. We (that includes me obviously) tend to see, people uni-dimensionally or at least from certain points of view only. ( Please do not misunderstand me, I am not saying you are in this case. ) I believe it is their profession as scientists and brilliant minds to unravel as much as they can using the knowledge of science to understand things. But obviously, that does not mean that their points of view are limited to only science. For instance, Schrodigner is a good example ( http://simplicit.wordpress.com/2006/06/22/indian-influences-in-the-development-of-quantum-mechanics-by-dr-girijavallabahn/ ) Regards, Ravi advaitin, "Vinayaka" <vinayaka_ns wrote: > > > > Dear Advaitins, > > There is an interesting video presentation on how the matter is > baffling quantum physicists. As with all science so far, they have to stop at what they have researched. As in the news right now, they say they can map 'dark matter' but this isn't the prakriti of vedanta, or even the unified field or akasha. It seems to me Dhyana is just a form of pre meditation or pre samadhi. A step further than concentration. Religion, Beliefs, Attitudes, Gods, Malas, Japa, Bhajans etc are only to re=ligio or bind the mind back to its non dual origins. They are only useful for concentration, for ultimately they are all totally unreal...........Tony.
Guest guest
It seems that the original link for what I had given before on Schrodinger might be this http://www.photonics.cusat.edu/article2.html For further reading of Schrodinger's views related to Vedanta http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Erwin_Schrodinger has a list of quotes attributed to him including references.
