Guest guest
Namaste, First I have to say what a blessing it is to have found such an engaging and vibrant online community... thank you for what you've given me in such a short amount of time! Second, I have only been doing the 2007 sankalpa mantra for a couple of days now - still in the early birthing stages, with I am sure many pitfalls and triumphs ahead. However, I am moved by the power of this mantra, and by the power of feeling all of us connected through it. I didn't feel much for it at first, but working with it in the last two days (doing this on my commute has been wonderfully effective), it is already working powerfully, manifesting itself even in physical ways in my life, especially helping me to examine my intentions to serve, and opening my heart to its own truth. I am reminded that the spiritual path does not always lie in the direction you might first set out in, and that simple, seemingly random acts of kindness can shift your entire world. Guest guest
Namaste Sundari, Thank you for sharing you're your experiences with chanting this mantra sankalpa. Your thoughts are the experience of many of us, and it is such a delight to share those experiences! I began the sankalpa this weekend. I was so happy that Maa picked a mantra from the Atha Sapta Sloki Durga because it is a most dear and precious passage to me. I wondered how I could ever keep track of 1000 malas, and decided to see how long it actually took to chant it. I chanted through two times and it took just under twenty minutes. My commute time is one hour each way. For two days now I have chanted only the sankalpa mantra continuously going to work and coming home from work. I am not counting, just chanting, sometimes at a whisper, sometimes singing it to Maa at the top of my lungs. Because of Vish's comments, I am also visualizing a wave of loving and healing energy flowing out in all directions that I am helping to support as it moves over the world. I chant a mantra for the car in front of me and the car behind me, for the hawk on the telephone line and the school bus children and the ambulance workers and patients. I chant for Shree Maa and Swamiji, and for family members (both blood relatives and faith relatives). I am no longer concerned how I will keep track of 1000 malas. If I do this each day for the remainder of the year I will have done over 3000 malas. Those two hours of commute time are now a special gift I can give back to the world because of Shree Maa's magnificent blessings. With love, Rick Veda Let my every word be a prayer to Her, Every movement of my hands a ritual gesture to Her, Every step I take a circumambulation of Her image, Every morsel I eat a rite of sacrifice to Her, Every time I lay down a prostration at Her feet; Every act of personal pleasure and all else that I do, Let it all be a form of worshipping Her.
