Guest guest
Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. When Radhanath Swami describes the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, each detail brings us more and more into the presence of the Lord and His divine associates. No one makes the Lord's pastimes come alive with such attention to details! Those who come to the Mayapur 2007 Gaura Purnima festival will be blessed with the opportunity to hear Radhanath Swami talk about Lord Caitanya's wonderful pastimes every afternoon for the first four days of the festival, February 16-19. When we invite you to come to Mayapur, more important than our personal request, is the desire of the great souls we are trying to represent. In reality, Bhaktivinode Thakura and Srila Prabhupada are inviting you to come to Mayapur for the Gaura Purnima festival! Srila Prabhupada writes, “Bhaktivinode Thakura desired that American disciples would come to Mayapur to take advantage of the birthplace of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu” (Letter to Brahmananda, July 7, 1969). “. . . because Srila Bhaktivinode Thakura wanted it that the American and European devotees should come to Mayapur, therefore I am trying for it” (Letter to Madhava Maharaja, January 21, 1970). “Also, you come to Mayapur on Mahaprabhu's appearance day as many as possible at least for a week” (Letter to Sudama, December 10, 1973). “Next time you come to India, you must come to Mayapur in March, not only you but many others” (Letter to Kirtanananda, October 10, 1973). “But in any case both of you do not forget to come to Mayapur during Caitanya Mahaprabhu's birth ceremony” (Letter to Tusta Krishna, November 9, 1975). Sridhama Mayapur is a special place where genuine love and happiness can easily be found because, in this dhama, which manifests ever-increasing sakti as the age of Kali-yuga progresses, devotional service is easier to perform and such devotional service benefits the devotee a thousand times more than if performed elsewhere. .
