Guest guest
A senior Godbrother once related this story to help enliven us in chanting Japa. He said: "Imagine if one day your spiritual master came to you and said I have these very special Deities of Radha and Krishna. I have been worshiping them very strictly for decades, every day offering loving puja and wonderful offerings to Their divine forms. And these Deities were worshipped with the same love and attention by my own Guru Maharaj until he gave them to me. And my Guru Maharaj's own Guru similarly worshipped these divine forms before he presented them to my Guru. In this way these transcendental Deities have been worshipped strictily and with great devotion throughout our parampara through time immemorial--all the way upto the Adi Guru Himself, Sri Balaram. Once a master's disciple was determined to be qualified, the master would present the parampara Deity to the disciple so that he could continue the timeless tradition. These Deities are not made out of any eartly materials...they are the Divine Forms of Sri-Sri Radha and Krishna in the form of sound vibration. As our whole Guru parampara has been worshipping them, at the time of initiation I formally present to you Radha and Krishna in the form of the Holy Names so that you may continue our tradition of worship. Please every day make it your life and soul to serve them with great attention and devotion by chanting the prescribed quota of Harinam on beads." --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are d to the Google Groups "ISKCON - Hare Krishna - Nectar of devotion group" group.
