Guest guest
What a delight to open the group home page and read the verses on 'om' the Shabda Brahman ! Om Sadhna is the finert and simplest of all the Saadhnaas! May i add the following verses from our scriptures to srimaan sunderji's fine collection on this Sacred symbol of 'Om' ? Taking as a bow the great weapon of the Upanishad, One should put upon it an arrow sharpened by meditation. Stretching it with a thought directed to the essence of That, Penetrate that Imperishable as the mark, my friend. The mystic syllable Om is the bow. The arrow is the soul. Brahman is said to be the mark. By the undistracted man is It to be penetrated. One should come to be in It, as the arrow [in the mark]. MUNDAKA UPANISHAD ********************************************************************* * As the material form of fire when latent in its source Is not perceived—and yet there is no evanishment of its subtle form— But may be caught again by means of the drill in its source, So, verily, both are in the body by the use of Om. By making one's own body the lower friction-stick And the syllable Om the upper friction-stick, By practicing the friction of meditation, One may see the God who is hidden, as it were. Svetasvatara Upanishad ********************************************************************* Whereas one thus joins breath and the syllable Om And all the manifold world— Or perhaps they are joined!— Therefore it has been declared to be Yoga. Maitri Upanishad ********************************************************************* OM! - This Imperishable Word is the whole of this visible universe. Its explanation is as follows: What has become, what is becoming, what will become, - verily, all of this is OM. And what is beyond these three states of the world of time, - that too, verily, is OM. Mandukya Upanishad ********************************************************************* This letter (OM), indeed, is the Brahman (Hiranyagarbha); and this letter is, indeed, the Supreme Brahman. Anybody, who, meditating on this letter, wants ANY of the TWO, to him comes that. This medium for meditation is the BEST; this medium is the Supreme. Realizing through this medium of meditation and getting identified with the Supreme Brahman, one becomes ADORABLE like Brahman. Kathopanishad ********************************************************************* *****************************************************************Bby By One Letter, A, He all worlds became; By Two Letters (A and U), He the Two became--Siva and Sakti; By Three Letters (A, U and M), He the Light* became; By Letter M was Maya ushered in. Thirumantiram ********************************************************************* let today be a new beginning in this new year ! Start chanting 'om' and there is no need for any other sadhana ! Om Namo narayana! om Namaha Sivaya ! om namo bhagvate vasudevaya ! OM TAT SAT

Guest guest
Namaste Veena-ji: The link is advaitin/ which is the reference to the site of advaitin. Since the list is using mailing list service of , members do get confused between the homepage (http:www.advaitin.net) and the site. Also members should know that if they want to provide any suggestions and comments to the moderators then they should send email addressed to advaitins . I hope that this clarifies your question, With my warmest regards, Ram Chandran advaitin, "Veena Nair" <nairvee wrote: > > > I could not find the verses on Om that DhyanaSaraswati referred to.
