Guest guest
Namaste Donna and Carie I thought I would send this message to you both. As you are both new, there are many different point to ponder here. I cover a few of the many options for dealing with problems in everyday life. Maa and Swami have given us many practical tools to help us grow. They encourage us all to be self sufficient and grow at our own pace. Try different techniques, and when one feels right, stick with it. Donna, it is so great you began the mantra for world peace. While many folks on our club had some resistance when they began, many sailed right into it. But, all of us have kept going, buoyed by our group or friends here, and the gathering strength of the mantra as it calms and purifies us and our families. Most importantly, the group samkalpa, or firm commitment, really strengthens our resolve. If you chant the mantra for the sankalpa, it will help overcome fear . Also, there are many other mantras which will help remove fear. For begineers, worshipping Durga, the Goddess, will provide great solice and benefit. To begin a relationship with this Her and Her energy, which is inside you, you could repeat Her mantra, On Hrim Srim Dum Durgayai Namah, OM : the infinite beyond conception Hrim: Maya-the substance of awareness Srim: increase of respect Dum: Durga-the Reliever of Difficulties Durgayai: To Durga-the Remover of Confusion Namah: I bow You could repeat the mantra after your meditation, when you are still and quiet. Or, anytime you feel fear, chant Her name. You can also chant the mantra, eyes open, or closed, using the mala, a string of 108 beads. The Goddess Durga removes fear, confusion, and The Great Ego. All fear is born of the Ego and our attachments. We fear loosing something, or facing something which may harm us, etc. She removes fear and the Ego and confusion, She removes all difficulties. Shree Maa says that whenever you have fear or worry, repeat this mantra. Maa says that women who worship Durga becomes much more motherly, serviceful, sensitive, and appreciative. She would become more creative and dynamic, with more power and energy. She would also become more fearless and courageous. Performing the beginner Gurga Puja, is a guided meditation on Her. It quiets your mind, an brings you inside your self, and ultimately, you meet and beome Durga. Shree Maa and Swami have created tools to help one learn how to worship Durga. On the web site: www.shreemaa.org, there is a CD of Maa chanting the text of the Beginner Durga Puja, and the written text is available too. Once you investigate these tools, fee free to ask further questions and we will all be glad to help get you started. I practice Durga Puja daily and find it very beneficial. There is another very simple, yet powerful tool to combat fear. In the text Kasyapa Sutras, from the book: The Gugu and the Goddess", translated by Maa and Swami, and available at the web site, thre are mantras for every negative emotion. You choose one, repeat it 108 times, then, you choose a "positive emotion mantra", and repeat it 108 times. For example, the mantra: TAM, is anxiety, repair it 108 times. Then, repeat SAM, tranquility, 108 times. Of course you can repeat them more often, as you need or desire. But start with these, and see how you feel. They can be chanted anytime, especially when you feel upset. The text has many more mantra for many moods and qualities. Also, every night at 6:30 PM Pacific time, go to the web site, and locate the live web cam classes which are broadcast live every night. The current class on the Bhavagat Gita deals with fear and how it saps our strength. Please let me know what interests you, and I will help as you need.
