Guest guest
Namashkar The 10 Avataars of Vishnu can be thought of as a guide to the evolution of man, especially the Sadhak: 1. Matysa- The ordinary man is like a Fish, lost in the sea of the world, floating about without any idea where hes going. 2. Kurma- After some, he realises his misery, & tries to move towards land, which here is the concrete reality of God. But like tortoise he still spends most time in sea of world. 3. Varaha- The boar can swim in sea as well as walk on land. The sadhak now lives in the world, but spends time thinking of God too. 4. Narsingh- Here the Sadhak confronts his animal tendencies. 5. Vaman- The Sadhak becomes an imperfect man. Now start the main Avataars: 6. Parshuram- This is the Sadhak at the Rajoguni stage. His passions are high, & like Parshuram he tries to fight the evil of the world all by himself. He finally realises this isnt possible. 7. Ram- This is the Sadhak at the Satoguni stage. He realises he should live accoridng to his Dharma, even if it brings him misery. He overcomes difficulties by the strength of his character. 8. Krishna- Finally the Sadhak goes beyond the 3 gunas. He still lives in the world, though as a Master now. He can marry, play about, fight wars, but since he is above Nature, he is not bound by anything he does. 9. Buddha- Finally, at the end, the Sadhak achieves complete Nirvana. He has no need for any worldly benefits. He instead prefers to train & teach others. 10. Kalki- There is some controversy about this. The 1st controversy is that why Buddha is above Krishna? Buddha as a stage is above Krishna, but Krishna as a person is above Buddha, as he could stay in the world & still be above it. Regarding Kalki, there is a lot of unecessary tales about his blood thirsty nature, & how he will kill all the sinners, which makes him some sort of Mohammed. I think Sri Aurobindos view about this is correct: Krishna pointed us to the Supermind(Vigyan, or the Wisdom body). The next Avataars- Buddha & Shankaracharya, tried to jump straight to some Void/Nirguna Brahma state where there would be no action, but this is against what Krishna said. Kalki Avataar will come to correct this mistake, & bring the Supermind that Krishna pointed out, down to Earth. This will be the beginning of a new Satyug. There will be no bloodshed; instead, people of impure minds will die out, & only pure souls will be able to take birth in the Golden Age.
