Regards, Dr. Yadu =========================== \ Hari Om Upanishad Ganga --- Serial on Upanishads --- The impact of the TV media is tremendous as seen by the success of serials on Ramayan and Mahabharat. The theme of the Upanishads, however, is unique and has never before been telecast as a serial. Chinmaya Mission feels privileged to take up this project. "Chinmaya Creations", a wing of Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, will produce this project. Salient Features: 1. This serial will be dedicated to Poojya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji, who started his work with teachings on the Upanishads. He embodies the entire Guru Paramapara. 2. The Upanishadic concepts will be brought out through a blend of the modern and the ancient, whereby all viewers feel that the serial is talking about them and will provide solutions to the conflicts and problems in their lives. The serial presentation will be through powerful media like stories, dramas, narration, music and dance. 3. The narrator (Sutradhara) will be Shri Veda Vyasa. 4. The audience addressed will mainly be the general public, who know little about Upanishads, as well as those scholars who are exposed to this subject. 5. This serial will emphasise the Upanishadic Message: All problems are due to lack of right thinking. Human life is rare and precious. Its main purpose is to enquire into and realize the Supreme Truth, which is the support of this world and the Self of all beings. This Realization can be gained through purity of mind and the Upanishadic Wisdom learnt from an Enlightened Master. The Realized Master ever remains engaged in the Welfare of all beings. 6. The core team of Acharyas and scholars of Chinmaya Mission will do the research and conceptualization. 7. Chinmaya Mission has selected and appointed Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi of Chanakya fame as the Creative Director of this serial. 8. The serial will be in Hindi as Hindi-speaking audience will be the largest. We will also bring out dubbed and subtitled versions in other languages. 9. This serial will be produced in 52 episodes. 10. The cost of each episode will be approximately Rs.16 lakhs or US$ 35,000 and the total project is estimated at Rs.16 crores or US$3.5 million. We invite all those who value this project to donate generously.
