Guest guest
Hi Brian, and welcome! May God bless you with all you require! It is hard in the beginning (actually it is hard in the middle too - but we won't go there...) I would say that the most important thing to do to start out is to establish a mental and emotional relationship with Shree Maa and Swami Satyananda. Once you have a connection with them, the way tends to open up. To that end, I recommend you order a couple of books from the Devi Mandir website, Before Becoming This, and Shree Maa: The Life of a Saint. Sahib Sadhu is also a good choice. Beyond that, it is generally recommended that one learn to do the Beginner's Shiva Puja or the Durga Puja, and practice them. There are is a lot of information on the Devi Mandir website. There are some very good video classes that Swamiji has recently done, as well as some audio offerings, and there is the live broadcasts, the link is entitled "Webcams", which are most weekdays at six-thirty Pacific Time. The Devi Mandir website is at www.shreemaa.org Hang out here, and you'll pick up a lot of good stuff! See you around, Brian, and God Bless you! Jai Maa!
