Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Rajesh Mandayam : I am very unhappy to learn about your legitimate distress . We all have to fight disrespect to intellectual property . We all have to protect legitimate business interests and Kaimkaryams done to propagate our siddhAntham and respect the magnificent efforts of great scholars . I am sorry that the site I manage has been drawn into this controversy inadvertently due to the unbridled enthusiasm of the aasthika from Toronto . He could have summarized the content and referred the devotees to purchase these treasures . Quotations or excerpts from originals are fine for educational purposes after getting permission from the owners but wholesale use without permission is unacceptable . I will remove the files from my site and request all members to be sensitive to such issues and not send anything propreitary . As for my writings , I have placed them at the disposal of one and all to spread the messages of our PoorvAchAryAs and our hoary sampradhAyam . Thanks again for inviting my attention to this important matter and providing an opportunity to record my clear views on this matter. SrimathE RaamAnujAya Nama: V.Sadagopan Dear Sri Sadagopan, I am sorry to find that this group which really sets great standards in terms of topics of discussion and philantrophy is seen to be promoting illegal activities like piracy and infrigment on copy rights. My distress is due to the activities of one who calls himself ' Marans dog' or Balaji Sunderarajan and is involved in propogating piracy on the Internet through the website Saranagathi.com. We have been noticing that he has sent out mails asking people to use the website to download proprietary releases of many Music companies and also the philotrophical excercises of companies like ours and also that of Sri Krishna Premi. In the last couple of days Four companies namely HMV (Saregama), Ramji , Vani & Chakkrika have decided to launch legal proceedings against this gentelmen and more specifically we are in touch with our attorneys in Toronto who would be serving notices to the concerned people shortly. I would request to all the people who are reading this mail to kindly understand that the release of great works like the one which are being distributed for free would cause great harm to the people who are realising these master pieces. Chakkrika which is owned by my father, contributes significantly to philantrophy from its small earning. Similarly, late Sri M.S Sublakshmi did and still her successors do not take a single pie from the earnings on her releases and all of her royalties till this date goes to Philantrophic causes. Such acts by inidividuals shows the decreasing standards of morallity that is engulfing the world. Rajesh Mandyam Have a burning question? Guest guest
Dear Sriman Rajesh, I myself am a fan and regular customer of chakkrika. Also I dont know Sriman Balaji Sundararajan. But still, my humble and sincere request to you is to refrain from any legal proceedings against him. Many people are not ill- intentioned but take things lightly. It seems Sriman Sundararajan is in that category. So please tell him (I assume you have not done it before) NOT TO broadcast chakkrika products any more from his website. You can think of legal proceedings etc. only if other means fail. adiyen ramanuja dasan Vishnu Oppiliappan, Rajesh Mandayam <chakkrika wrote: > > Dear Sri Sadagopan, > > I am sorry to find that this group which really sets great standards in terms of topics of discussion and philantrophy is seen to be promoting illegal activities like piracy and infrigment on copy rights. Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Manoram Chaitanyadas : I agree with you . Sri Balaji of Toronto meant well . He could have avoided this confusion by asking fro permission to have excerpts to provide publicity for these treasures instead of reproducing them verbatim and creating legitimate concerns for the intellectual content owners . Legal suits are not necessary . This can be amicably settled by Sri Balaji not sending anymore sensitive material to the lists that do not have the clearance . Sri Balaji can also make amends by sending a SamarpaNam to a VaishNavite Kaimkaryam of the choice of the owners of Chakkarika including the sponsorship of future releases . beyond this appeal on behalf of a well meaning devotee , who got carried away , there is nothing much I can add .
