Some believe in astrology to the extent of seeing the position of the stars every day and scheduling their day accordingly, and some disbelieve in it to such and extent that they dismiss it outright as quackery. A majority of the Indian population however are fence sitters who may not believe every word an astrologer says but do match horoscopes or take an astrologers opinion before marriage, or starting a new venture. Astrology is certainly a science and dismissing it just because of ignorance would be a fallacy. Astrologers find its origins in ancient Indian texts like Brihat Jataka, Parasara Hora etc. It is a science which has its origins, its practitioners and preachers in Indian. The time is now right to explore all that astrology has to offer by studying it In-depth and correlating it to the circumstances of the present world. Recently many universities in India have taken a right step in this direction by starting Vedic astrology courses. Many foreign universities already offer degree courses in astrology. Let not the westerners teach us what we already know for centuries as has happened with Yoga. Let us all learn it and verify its usefulness in our daily life. Astrology is a science of movement and relative position of celestial bodies and their interpretation in our daily affairs. The horoscope (kundali) of a person offers so much knowledge of a person. That it’s usefulness is limitless. Of this, only a few aspects are presently used, astro-diagnosis is also one such off-shoot of this science. Medical astro-diagnosis means using the horoscope, to identify or predict medical condition by making the study of horoscope useful to the medical field. Here we study the relative positions of the various celestial bodies and their influence on health of an individual. Imagine if we were to predict a disease a person is likely to suffer from laterin life by studying his/her horoscope. Yes! This is possible. The various celestial bodies and their relative Positions during birth of a person, called the horoscope, are useful in other ways so far not thought about. An horoscope of the person can give a define in diction of the organ in the Body that is weak and is likely to cause problems in future even if the person is healthy today. (Arun Shah is doing pioneering effort in this field since the last many years and has come out with a theory that has implications far and wide.
