Namaste All-

I just wanted to share a beautiful experience I had last night. I was

re-reading Before Becoming This, and I felt a very intense longing to

feel the presence and blessings of Shree Maa. I tuned into that

longing and said a prayer to her, asking her to aid me in my

devotions and practice. I also told her that I wanted very much to

see her in person one day.

Last night, after praying and reading a while longer, I had the most

wonderful dream. I dreamt that I had the privilege of going on a

retreat with Shree Maa. I was dressed in a very heavy, linen sari

with orange fringe, and a mala around my neck. There was lots of

singing and meditation and fellowship. I felt soooo peaceful.

When I awoke this morning I thought about it, and "heard" Shree Maa's

voice say to me, "Why don't you wash up and do some puja?". So I did!

I felt very joyful to do so, as well. I don't yet know the full Durga

or Shiva beginners puja, and I don't have all the physical supplies

(although I realize it is the intention and devotion that really

counts), so I lit a candle and some incense using the mantras from

the pujas that I do know, and just sat in that peaceful state.

I felt really blessed and look forward to more experiences like that!

Can somebody please tell me the Shree Maa gayatri again? I had it on

one of the lovely cards that is sent along sometimes with the various

materials from Devi Mandir, but I seem to have lost mine! Are there

other prayers or mantras that I can do to bring me closer to her

energy and stay there more consistantly?

Thanks,

~Devi~

Hi Devi,

I goes like this:

Om sanaatani maayaa vidmahe jnaana prakaashaayai dhimahe tanno

shrimaam prachodayaat

I think the sankalpa mantra is a good one for tuning in....

Jai Maa!
