kaveendraanaam chetah kamalavana baalaatapa ruchim

bhajantey ye santah katichidarunaameva bhavateem

virinchi preyasyaa staralatara sringaralahareem

gabheeraabhi rvaagbhi vidadhati sataam ranjanamamee (or in some texts "sabhaa ranjana mamee" )

Poets (formost among them like) Indra(is foremost among gods) imagine (you in)the lotus garden (in the divine) female (form and) meditate (on) such(form):

(and) worship you so, with folded hands, (to) these few (to illuminate their minds) red light (of the morning sun) you become

(and so their words are like that of) virinchi's wife's sparkling romantic flow(of words)

(combined with) majestic(poetry); (so they become) distinguished poets, truly pleasing ( to the listeners of their words)

(or in another text entertaining the assemblages/courts of kings)

The poet's( or musician/actor) worth depends on how pleasing his work/performance is to the audience. While there are thousands of poets it is only a few who are truly gifted and have a broad range of talent and whose work is of a permanent quality. Such a quality can come only through divine blessings of the Mother. The consciousness of such great poets is illuminated by the radiance of the rising sun. This is a result of their contemplating on the Mother on her lotus pedestal. and worshipping on such form with folded hands. As mentioned, in earlier verse also, it is only a few who are capable of reaching such a level of consciousness by devotion. They are blessed and words flow out of them. And the sweetness of this flow can be compared to the tones of Goddess Saraswati during her romantic interlude with her Husband Virinchi(Brahma). She is the Goddess of all learning and fine arts.Their words also have the majesty and dignity that befits their greatness.. They become

truly learn-ed and their work is respected and pleases because of its intrinsic greatness. The highest praise for a scholar or someone accomplished in poetry , music etc is to call him Saraswati Putra (child of Saraswati). She is the goddess who is worshipped before child is taught the Alphabet. It is with her blessings that great accomplishments are achieved in these fields. The mother contemplated and worshipped on lotus pedestal transforms the devotee into a poet comparable to Saraswati her self. Because, when she grants a boon to her devotee there are no limits. She gives in abundance. In verse 4 it is said "phalamapi ca vaanchaasamadhikam ". She gives much more than that wished for. If a devotee prays to be a Saraswati Putra, he becomes Saraswati. This shows that both her love and power are unbounded. But only a few have the constant devotion and capabilty for such cotemplation.

Yantra is an equilateral triangle pointing downwards(representing Shakti) with all three sides ending in tridents at both ends. Bijaaksharams are Vam, Vam, Vam arranged in a column.

Expected result of Upaasana is Vedanta Jnanam or knowledge of the Upanishads.
