Guest guest
Sri: Srimate Ramanujaya nama: Priya arangan adiyars, With the grace of Namperumal, Srirenganachiar, and bhagavatas like you, all the activities of our SRIMAAN TRUST are progressing uninterruptedly. SriKooratazhwan thirunakshtra celebrations were very grand and we had a lot of Srivaishnavas participate in it. Azhwan had purappadu the previous night (i.e the day before his thirunakshtram) and he was with Emperumaanar that night! The next day, Azhwan was present for the Vishwaroopam of PeriyaPerumal. Then, purappadu in Thiruveedhi with mellifluous Ramanuja Nootrandhadi goshti. Azhwan halted to do mangalasashanam at SriRenganachiar and Andal's sannidhi. Then, sevakalam of last four pattu Thiruvaimozhi began at 1pm and sattrumurai was done at 3pm. Our Azhwan was honoured by Namperumal and Ramanujacharya with Thirupparivattam and Maalai. A short article on the greatness of Kooratazhwan: * ' Vaacham Agocharam'* Our flawless Manavala Mamunigal extols Sri Kuresha as 'Vaacham agochara mahaguna deshikagraya kooradhinatha* *kathitakila naichyapathram' (Kuresha! The foremost preceptor, whose great qualities are beyond description)! Thiru arangathamudhanar, a discipline of Kuresha hails him as one whose unparalleled fame due to noble qualities are beyond words to relate and who had conquered the faults of egoism and egotism (I and mine). It is said that SriRamanuja felt assured of his salvation because he had spiritual relationship with SriKooratazhwan. If one recalls, SriRamanuja was a great acharya who could emancipate even his preceptors not to mention his disciplines, how can one essay successfully the noble qualities of SriKoorathazhwan? Azhwan was so merciful that he pleaded with Lord Varada of Kanchi to grant salvation to Naaloran, who was responsible for the loss of his eyes in the Chozha king's court. His desirelessness (Vairaghya) was such that he could throw the gold cup his wife had brought with her and rid her of the fear of thieves while treading a lonely path to Srirangam. He was only marooned in tears and did not open his mouth while discoursing on Thiruvaimozhi- such was his own experience with the divine. Hence, the name 'Azhwan' (one who is drowned in the divine attributes of Lord Sriman Narayana).
