After the success of Hanuman, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is all set with the sequel Hanuman 2.

It's a bird... it's a plane... no it's Hanuman... again. Yes, after the success of Hanuman, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is all set with the sequel Hanuman 2. The movie is in its post-production stage and this time there's more to Hanuman than just burning Lanka.

"Hanuman 2 is all about Hanuman in this modern day. It is what Hanuman perceives of our times and this journey of his to a different time zone," explains Anurag. Hanuman 2 will most probably be one of the Diwali releases, along with Saawariya.

What about competition? "I think the time of the release is perfect. The two movies have no competition. One is an animation and the other is a commercial flick. But I have to say that Hanuman is not just a children's movie. I have come across people from all age groups who have loved it," says Anurag.

VG Samant and Milind Ukey had directed Hanuman, but now Anurag has stepped into their shoes. From a 2D film, Hanuman will graduate to a 3D one. "We should not forget that Hanuman was the first ever mythological superhero. He was the flying God and the one who helped mankind at large," says Preet Bedi, CEO Percept Picture Company.

"And this time we do not intend to limit it to the Indian audience. If we can accept their Superman from the beginning to the end, why can't Hanuman be accepted by the western audience? Hanuman is capable of being an international superhero," he adds.

Last year Hanuman had won five awards in special jury category, visual effects and contribution to Indian cinema. Apart from this, the film was also turned into a comic book, which had the same content as the first movie in six different languages Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati and Kannada.

So will there be a comic book series too? "Well, there is lots more to follow! Just wait and watch," quips Bedi.
