Acupuncture is a Hindu Samvatsara Chikitse: Raghavendrachar Posted by: "kalyan97" kalyan97 aswahindcivil Wed Feb 21, 2007 7:27 am (PST) ture is a Hindu Samvatsara Chikitse Acupuncture is a Hindu Samvatsara Chikitse. Bodhi Dharma, a Buddhist Monk took Acupuncture knowledge to China in AD 527 on the request of Chinese Emperor. We lost acupuncture knowledge, among many others. Even today acupuncture is being practiced in China; hence it is called Chinese medicine. Yoga, Acupuncture and Ayurveda originated in India. These three systems are called ancient Indian medicine for health and well being. The systems are based on the five element (pancha mahabhootha) principles – Air, Water, Earth, Fire and Space. The whole world and this human body are created out of these five elements. There are many acupuncture techniques and I will describe the best one: Acupuncture says that five elements (Pancha Prana – vital energy) rule our body/mind and this whole world. Any disease in the body/mind, and any natural calamities that happen now and then around the world are due to the imbalance of Prana in the five elements. Prana – vital energy circulates our whole body 24 hours a day 365 days till our last breath. Our ancestors have compared Prana circulation in our body with that of rainwater falling on the earth. When the rain comes, the water circulates on the earth as follows: Water accumulates at a point – it is called Well Water flows out of this Well – it is called Spring Water flows down the Spring – it is called Stream Stream becomes wide and furious – it is called River River joins the Sea – the unlimited bed of water These Well… Sea points are nothing but Hindu Samvatsaras and these Samvatsaras can be used for curing diseases. Samvatsara Samvatsara is "Kala" or "Waqt" or "Time". For that matter, Time is most important. It has the highest value and respect. For us anything and everything is Time. There is a Hindi film called "Waqt".In this film, there is a song "Waqtse din aur raat,Waqtse kal aur aaj". Time creates everything and destroys everything on the earth.Every year Hindus celebrate New Year on Ugadi day – The Beginning of a New Samvatsara. There are sixty Samvatsaras called as Well, Spring, Stream, River and Sea. These are also called as Pancha Pranas. These Pancha Pranas are nothing but Samvatsaras. These Pancha Pranas circulates in human body through shat charkas in ida and shat charkas in pingala nadi and it becomes total 60 pranasa meaning 60 samvatsaras. Can these Samvatsaras be used for Curing Diseases? Certainly yes. In Sujok Acupuncture system these sixty samvatsaras are in two fingers- index and middle. Vaishnava Saint Sri Madhwacharya has shown two fingers meaning the whole Vedanta and therapy is in these two fingers.
