Guest guest
Om shivaya namah Namaste asha ji, Sorry for being late. Quite occupied with work. Now I don't want to go in detail as sri atj gave a good explanation on this. Hindu religious practises are more to make ourself self disciplined. I remember my grand mother used to tell me when I was a kid not to eat food before washing hands and legs else snake will come and bite. As I grow I understood it was not to make me afraid of snakes but to keep ourself clean before eating. If you are more interested to discuss /learn more on vedic rituals there is a for it and moderated by sri narashimarao of sjc, boston. You can join and discuss more on this Thanks.
