Guest guest
I have recently bought the DVD Kundalini Yoga by Gurmukh and also have some DVD's by Nirvair Singh. Gurmukh's approach is very different and quite energetic to say the least. However I enjoy them both very much. My question is how much of the exercises can be done by children? Somehow you dont hear very much about them when viewing the emails and looking at the various web sites. However I have a 4 year old girland an 8 year old boy who are both curious when they see us (me and my wife) doing yoga. My boy specially would like to join in. I always remember when I was a kid my Dad first introduced me to yoga as he was born in Calcutta and was taught it at a ver young age. Unfortunately it was something he did not continue with during his grown up years. But, it was something I never forgot and fortunately I have continued off and on through out my life. I would like to give my kids a good grounding, any advise please? Many thanks you William PS. Is Gurmukh going to be doing any more DVD's? But you also can include your children in what you do if they show an interest. I personally don't impose on them what I do, but if they ask to be included I let them do everything they can and include a lot of lightheartedness and laughter. Of course they probably won't want to stay in postures or meditations as long as you would. It is not about perfection. It is about experience. Let them create their own animal postures. With children it is more about play than doing complete Kriyas. Also don't give them the breath of fire until they have reached puberty. Make sure they are safe. Teach them about tuning in and chanting. Blessings, Awtar
