Dear Dr Bhate,

Just because the US doctors complained about the US medical system, it does not mean that healthcare is rosy in India. What ails the medical system in the US and worldwide also affects India.

How many folks in India seek alternative health care? There was a time when Ayurveda got so relegated to the backround but thanks to efforts in other countries, the Indian Govt woke up to the problem and started supporting this system of medicine. I was in India recently and was surprised to see the look of disbelief amongst majority of people when I mentioned that I was a practicing Ayurvedic consultant. For all these people "I was a nut".

You mention about "Teaching to Breathe". Is that a real possibility in India? Do you notice where India is going? In trying to ape the West, Indians are suffering from all illnesses. They are being inundated with Fast foods, automotive gadgets, fast life-style issues etc. India is leading the world in Juvenile diabetes and Juvenile Obesity.

Please do not always complain about the West. While the West is slowly refining, the "ills of the West" has captured the Indian public and unless our Indians folk wake up and realize it, they will be drowned in it.
