Guest guest
??? ??? ?????? *Comments on Retrogression from http://srigaruda.com* Dear Sharat, Namaskar. 1. Transit during the time of birth constitutes the birthchart and the motions of the planet during birth are indeed taken very much into account, especially when you read the chapter on strengths in BPHS. If you are referring to the transit motions AFTER birth, then yes its very important to know if a planet gets retrograde or stationary. Do this: Find in the sky when a person goes stationary before retrogression. Find the navamsa-sign in which the planet does this. See this sign in your natal chart to know the effects. Example: A person with Leo Lagna had Jupiter in fifth house - sagittarius. The problem in the particular chart was that Jupiter was removing a curse in the natal chart and thus the blessings of Jupiter were vital for the person. When Saturn turned retrograde in Cancer Rasi - Sagittarius navamsa the person was suddenly blocked in their professional pursuits due to government action and had a tough time for the following period. So motions are vital in timing events. But this ascribes to only five planets, for the remaining four (viz. sun, moon and the two nodes). For the remaining we have eclipses ;-). 2. a. /Case: Taurus lagna, with Sa and Ju, both retrograde, both in 9th H, thus Sa is in its own sign and Ju is debilitated./ Neecha bhanga yoga only happens in kendra to lagna or moon. Only from lagna can we use gemstones, whilst from moon we need mantras. Assume this was Aries lagna then. Then yes the wearing of a blue sapphire would have the purpose of taking Jupiter out of debility, but this should be worn on the left hand to ensure that the dur-bhagya of Shani doesn't affect the the ninth lordship negatively. 2. b. Mercury does bad things in bad company, but he isn't a malefic. I.e. Mercury joined Rahu can show kids experimenting with drugs or the likes in their school because of their 'association'. But the kid is good and can do good. Now, if Mercury is retrograde in his own sign, then because he is a benefic by nature he can do extremely good if in kendra or trikona, in the sense that he will be OVER giving towards others. A great teacher of yoga is born from this. However, if this same Mercury is joined or opposite malefics (aspect) then when influenced by his 'friends' he can be three times as worse than he normally is...ouch. Sun is not a malefic for dharma, but such a person can be very cruel with his/her words. I have a friend with Jupiter retrograde in a kendra. He studies Jyotish and does his UTMOST for his clients. He would give them an unusual amount of remedies and end up paying for their pujas, to the extent that it started depleting his bank account severely... A big giver, but left with little to feed his own family - this is why retrogression denies the mahapurusha yoga. Guest guest
Do this: Find in the sky when a person goes stationary before retrogression. Find the navamsa-sign in which the planet does this. See this sign in your natal chart to know the effects. Dear Visti, Namaskar, please say a bit more on how to judge the effects of this. In the example that you gave why did the transit saturn give problems related to Govt. ? Will the retro planet always give problems ? I looked at the current mercury retrograde and the transit nvamsa is Aquarius which is my 5th House with Jupiter in it so how do you suppose it should affect me. Natal mercury is in Lagna. Guest guest
??? ??? ?????? Dear Ashish, Namaskar Retrograde benefics can be enormous blessings in transit. Its the malefics which are the problem. In the particular chart of the native, the person has a curse of Surya in the ninth house, which showed the issue, so it depends on the chart, whereas Shani was just stirring up the issue. Mercury retro and affect Jupiter in fifth. Great time for studies - you will find yourself getting access to lots of shastras and knowledge during this time. Guest guest
Dear Visti, Thanks, so it might be good to see mercury going retro in my 5th house with Jupiter, however one thing I have to say here is that in case of malefic going retro and affecting a curse it made things worse. So a benefic going retro and affecting a curse will give some relief from that ? Also should the results be impacted by the ownership( in natalchart) of planet going retro. There are a few major things coming up for me in next 1 month , I would not attribute all of them to mercury going retro. However from my limited understanding here are a few which i now feel can be mapped to mercury going retro in Aquarius Navamsa which is my 5th. 1. We are expecting a child soon it has to be born in next 1 month. So a fifth house issue here and the retro planet affects the fifth house and Jupiter ( dont know how much time I will really get to read any Shastras now ! ). 2. Have got a moon curse, from saturn(4th lord) and rahu, moon in in pisces and you have already told me earlier that Jupiter is the key to remove that curse. Now for past 2 years I have not been able to meet my mother and tomorrow she is coming to UK to live with us for a few months so I guess mercury lord of 9th and 12th in natal is blessing by giving a long distance travel to her ... Hope my imagination if not running wild :-) Suppose I want to find out how a planet going retro in transit impacts a carrer or children then is there any technique you would suggest ? I mean connecting the D-charts with retro planets. Should we do it the same way we did with navamsa ? I think we should treat a retrograde planet as delivering something during that period, the question is what it delivers. For that we can use the technique given by you to map the navamsa to rashi and the nature of planet, but should we take the natal ownership of that planet also ?. Guest guest
||HARE RAMA KRSHNA|| Dear Guru Visti ji, Namskar, mercury goes retro in aquarius rasi and aquarious navamsa. does this indicate something more i.e. mercury turning retro when its vargottama? incidentally I was doing a durga mantra since last few days( rahu in aquarius,4th from natal lagna and placed 7th from AL) and I missed doing the pooja on 14th evening,I just kept on sleeping. Hope to restart when mercury turns direct. with regards and lots of thanks for your valuable guidance in understanding astrology in a scientific way. vikas , Visti Larsen <visti wrote: > > ??? ??? ?????? > > Dear Ashish, Namaskar > Retrograde benefics can be enormous blessings in transit.
