The BUGBEAR of following Indian Rituals Abroad!

You raise a very real issue, dear friend. To add to the example which

many may not face or have to worry about or to be sensitive about

when we jyotishis blurt out our recommendations -- is the situation

where a loved one is cremated and the funeral home hands you the

ashes in a container of your choice and picking! There are bylaws in

many countries against offering the ashes (pure oxides by the time

the 1800 degrees hot incinerator goes through the physical body!) to

large bodies of water! So some people carry it when they go back to

India for a visit and go through the last leg of karmic suffering in

holy places (very purifying and purging for the soul!!) or they just

hold on to the ashes (many non hindus who opt for cremation do just

that) and we have all kinds of american movies which have used that

as an opportunity for comical opportunities! I will stop there lest I

hurt some sensitive souls).

 

If desh, kal, paristhiti/pravratti are such important cornerstones of

astrology and its rituals, why have the prescribers not given it some

thought and what do they recommend based on their international

experience?

 

I will now merge with the woodwork and wait patiently for Collective

Wisdom to flow ...
