Guest guest
Namaste This quote was posted several days. The quote is from Ramakrishna, who is Shree Maa's Guru. He spoke often about renunciation, attachment, and surrender. His life as an avatar was well documented and Swami translated a wonderful book about his life, the title is below the quote. Yes, it is difficult to become unattached while living in the world. But not impossible. How to gain this state of self mastery? Through the sadhana which we learn from Maa. It helps us become more self aware and centered in our true Self. As one progresses, one becomes increasingly able to "witness" the world and watch the drama, while not being "sucked into it". To observe one type of intensive sadhana which is designed to help one "live in the moment", log onto http://www.shreemaa.org every Sunday at 9:30 AM Pacific time and you will observe Maa and Swami and our group chanting the Chandi Path. Maa and Swami's main focus is to help us gain this state of being where nothing of the world has a permanent and lasting effect on us. What a goal. But, what other goal is worth pursuing? Ramakrishna said: "If you do not have a lot of energy and determination, you are not going to be successful. You must be like the fish that lives in the mud at the bottom of the pond, yet no mud ever sticks to its body. It's also like the goose that sticks its head into the water to grab a fish. It comes up and shakes , and none of the waters sticks to its body."
