Atama is True?

Respected Gurus,

Atama,parmatama,many time I read in many puranas,and maney books of religion,If Atama is same of all living world,then why we kills to creatures,animals,for food,why we take non-veg.and if Atama is Parmatama,then Lion have and Goat have Atama,Then why Parmatama kills to Parmatama,If Parmatama kills to Parmatama,then why this nature is playing a game to born and die,Panchabhoot are must for the life,and all are presented after death,then why body not make work,If heart is a governer of body,and if Atama live in heart,then which karak make crual to Atama,I am real puzzeled by hearing Atama..Atama....kindly suggest a way to satishfection,but not in hard english.

Atma is not the same, rather each jiva has atma which is similar in nature. In other words, there are as many atma as there are jivas which are infinitesimal in size and are similar in nature (an analogy given for paramatma-atma relation is bimba-pratibimba).

 

 

then why we kills to creatures,animals,for food,why we take non-veg.

 

As per Vedic shastras, this is forbidden. However the main reason this is forbidden is not because animals have atma (since one can argue that plants also have atma) rather because it is not allowed as nevedya/bhog to the Deity. Sri Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita 3.13:

 

yaj~na-shiShTAshinaaH santo

mucyante sarva-kilbiShaiaH

bhu~njate te tv aghaM pApA

ye pacanty Atma-kAraNAt

 

yaj~na-shiShTa—food taken after performance of yaj~na; ashinaaH—eaters; santaaH—the devotees; mucyante—get relief from; sarva—all kinds of; kilbiShaiaH—sins; bhu~njate—enjoy; te—they; tu—but; agham—grievous sins; pApAaH—sinners; ye—those; pacanti—prepare food; Atma-kAraNAt—for sense enjoyment

 

i.e. all food should be prepared as sacrifice to God.

No Atma is not Paramatma -- there are innumerable pramanas for this. However, in shastra we find that atma primarily refers to Brahman/Paramatma, and at other times to jiva so there is scope for confusion.

 

 

 

if Atama live in heart,then which karak make crual to Atama

 

The anAdi desire of baddha atmas to be independent of Paramatma (when they are actually completely and eternally dependent on Paramatma) leads to being placed in this jagat. So their anAdi karma binds them to this world, and realization of eternal dependence on Paramatma and sharanagati is the only way out (see Bhagavad-Gita 18.56-66 in this context).
