Universes Inside Atoms?

Maybe it means universes are like seeds, like a tree is grown from a seed. ?

This universe could be akin to a 'bubble', as Karanarnavasayi Vishnu is said to rest in the causal ocean whilst innumerable universes proceed forth from the pores of his skin whenever he exhales.

In the scripture known as 'Yoga Vasishtha', there is a verse which states: "Vast worlds lie within the hollows of each atom, multifarious as the motes in a sunbeam."

Does anyone know what the meaning of this particular verse is? :)

Perhaps it has to do with the Vedic concept of space, which is multi-dimensional and non linear. You can enter other worlds even through the smallest of the small - the atom

The meaning of this is that you know Maha Vishnu (Karanodakshayi Vishnu)? HE is the father of these millions of universes. This is just one Maha Vishnu. There are inumberable more like Him.

Through Him and Maha Maya is born inumberable pairs of Pradhan and Prakriti and through each couple comes Mahatatva, Ahamkar.

Through the Mahatatva and ahamkaar comes the body of Vairaj Purush (also known as Garbhodayak Vishnu). His body is one universe. 14 Lokas etc are all inside him. We are inside him.

These are all like tiney specks of praticles to the almighty of Maha Vishnu. The father of all these universes. Its liek imagine their is a beam of sunlight coming into the room that you may be sitting in. In this beam you may see many little specks.

In the same way these univeres are like atoms to the grandeur of Maha Vishnu who is the First planery expansion of Purshottam Narayan.

On the eleventh day of the first fortnight of the month of Magh in Samvant 1876, Shriji Maharaj was seated facing south in the evening on a raised platform near the temple of Shri Vasudev Narayan in the Durbar of Shri Dada Khachar at Gadhada. He had covered his body with a white cotton shawl and wrapped a white side-cloth about his shoulders. He had put on a white turban. Munis and the Bhaktas form the various places were assembled before him.<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O:P></O:P>

At that moment, one Vedanti-Brahmin named Maheswar Bhatt asked one question to Shriji Maharaj, ‘It is said that the physical body and all the evolutes of Maya3, fade out in the state of Samadhi2. How then does Akash fade out ?’<O:P></O:P>

Replying to the question, Shriji Maharaj said, ‘I shall define Akash4, to which, you all may listen carefully.Akash is described as space or vaccume which exists even in the monadic atom. If, however, such atom is cut into an infinite number of pieces imperceptible to the eye, even in such microscopic monality, Akash4 exists. It is therefore infered that Akash4 only exsits and the evolutes of Ahankar5, such as, earth, water, light, wind etcetera are all pervaded and wrapped by Akash4. Akash4, therefore is the all sustainer. The three forms of body, gross, mental and causal, also subsist in Akash4. Even the infinite macrocosms, Prakriti, and Purush7 all subsist in Akash. This Akash exists-within and around the entities of Prakriti6 and Purush and innumberable macrocosms and, as the sustainer of all, exists outside also. This Akash4 therefore, never fades out either in Samadhi or in Susupti- the state of deep sleep.<O:P></O:P>

Now, if you doubt that Akash and the other four evolutes, namely earth, water, light and wind are the evolutes of Ahmkar5 then how can this Akash be called the sustainer of Purush7 and Prakriti6 ? how can it be said to be all-pervading ?<O:P></O:P>

You may therefore clear this doubt by an understanding that Akash4 exsits even in Prakriti in as much as from Prakriti6 is evolved Mahattahva8 just as a tree-yields flowers and fruits and just as from the womb of a cow, a calf is ejected. Similarly Akash4 exists even in Prakriti6. Again Ahmkar5 is evolved out of Mahattahva8, so Akash4 exists even in Mahattahva8 and again Akash4, one of the five Mahabhutas8 is evolved out of Tamas9. So Akash4 exsits even in Tamas9. This Akash being the product of Tamas9 is subject to change, where as Akash4, the all sustainer, is changless and eternal. This all sustaining Akash4 is known as Brahm10 or Chidakash10. Purush and Prakriti subsist in this Akash4 and expand and contract during the time of evolution and dessolution.<O:P></O:P>

The process of expansion of Prakriti and purush7 is thus explianed. At the time of evolution, purush7 joins with Prakriti6 and just as a child is born out of husband and wife, Mahattahva8 and other evolutes evolve out of Prakriti6 and Purush7. This process of expansion of Prakriti6 through her evolutes continues and Prakriti6 through her twenty four Tattvas11 remains concomitant with the physical bodies and the various evolutes of Prakriti by his all pervading powers. This is the state of expasion of Prakriti and Purush7. And in the time of final rest evolutes of Prakriti and Purush7 are dissolved, Prakriti6 fades out in the light of Purush7 which is a state of contraction of Prakriti6. Purush7 also then contracts by remaining self centered. Just as a tortoise expands all his limbs when it comes out and contracts its limbs when in water, similarly Prakriti6 and Purush7 expend and contract in the state of evolution and dissolution. Purush7, however, always remains concomitant along with all the evolutes of Prakriti6 and yet is separate from them by his individual entity. Chidakash10 being all sustaining and all existing can not be described as being either with or without them. It is an all existing and all pervading entity.<O:P></O:P>

This cosmos is surrounded by mount LokaLoka13 like an invincible fort. Outside the Lokaloka12 there is Aloka. Beyond Aloka there are seven spheres. Beyond those spheres there is impenetrable darkness. Beyond that darkness there is light which is called Chidakash. Upwards also beyond Brahmloka14, there are seven spheres. Beyond that there is darkness and beyond that darkness there is light which is called Chidakash. Again beneath and beyond the infernal regions, there are seven spheres. Beyond those spheres is immense darkness and beyond that darkness there is light called Chidakash10. Chidakash10, therefore, is all pervading in and around the infinite number of macrocosms. One who has developed this vision to see this all pervading Chidakash10 has mastered Dahar–vidya15. The yogic feats of Akashi Vidya17, Brahmvidya are the attainments of a Yogi. This Chidakash is resplandent with divine light. It is eternal and therefore devoid of the states of expansion and contraction, Where as the evolution and dissolution of Akash4 apply to Akash4, one which is one of the evolutes of Ahmkar and a product of Tamas11. It fades out in Samadhi2, Chidakash10, the all pervading and all sustaining does not fade out. It is static. If you have any doubt, you may ask further. Whereupon of the Vedantin Brahmiin and all the members of the assembly uneqivocally said, ‘All doubts are cleared’.<O:P></O:P>

So yes, one of the two types of Akash is also Chidakash (or Brahmjyoti). Comes out from the Lord's transcendental body.
