Hi!

I would like to see some thoughts on this:

Challenge: One Million Dollars awaits the individual who can prove, in a controlled setting, that they have "super" powers.

There is "a lot" of talking about "super" powers (everywhere), but it seems there there arent any in the end..

What do you think?

Scepticism is one thing, and a healthy thing. Cynicism is quite another thing all together. This randi guy has had this game going for many years. He will never agree to pay anyone anything for anything.

If he really wanted to learn if mystic powers are real enough he need only observe the immediate world around him which abounds with the wonderous display of Krsna's mystic power. And this but a spark of Krsna's glory.

Randi and his crew should call themselves the cynical society instead of the sceptics society. Honest sceptics advance in knowledge whereas cynics only shrivel up and die as curmudgeons with prune like faces.

This might be a fun topic and an interesting subject, but I fail to see how it belongs in the "spiritual discussions" section of the forum.

Real mystics have no need to prove their powers to some sceptic for money.

Just because nobody has come forward to defeat his challenge, that doesn't prove that there are no true mystics on the planet.

This dude is an idiot and a fraud. He only investigates fools, and would never even consider a legitimate claim. His bet ($1,000,000) is completely hedged.

He has gotten his 15 minutes of fame as a skeptic. He has following because everyone knows the foolishness of blind faith. But just as foolish is the blind rejecter.

So, if you take a coin with one side being the kook claiming abduction by sex-starved reptilians, the other side of that coin is the kook named Randy and his $1,000,000 bet that nothing is outside the realm of understanding (denial of acintya).
