These are the thoughts that came in the night

I cannot prolong the fussing and the fight

I cannot pretend to know what is wrong from what is right

But I do know that we never fade from His sight

Give Him room to move

 

The world is a mess of confusion and pain

Sometimes I wonder if I am totally insane

I have nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain

Like scorched earth, I am waiting and hoping for the rain

Give Him room to move

 

His power and His glory comes to take us all

Some of us will rise up, some of us will fall

There is always two masters, both of them will call

One to give us shelter, One throws us against the wall

Give Him room to move

 

He can help me remember, He can cause me to forget

If I hold an empty glass, He will see my needs are met

But if I leave no room for Him to move, you can bet

That I will never cry His Name, never free from my debt

Give Him room to move

 

I cannot blame the devil, what I do, I do alone

I have got freedom to sit at His feet or grab His throne

Freedom to eat the fruit from the seeds I have sown

I am free to Love my Father Who accepts me as His own
