Guest guest
I just heard a class in which 'criticism' of devotees was considered absolutely a fall down. Yet we hear Prabhupada levelling all kinds of criticisms even against his godbrothers. No doubt the ISKCON-pledged devotees won't criticize anybody in ISKCON regardless of their activities, but that's just politics. They have no problem attacking everybody else, Vaisnava or not. How do we distinguish between politics and genuine aparadha?
Murali_Mohan_das
How do we distinguish between politics and genuine aparadha? I never knew there was a difference. Isn't it said that Vaishnavas don't engage in "diplomacy"? For me "politics" and "diplomacy" go hand in hand. It is only right for senior Vaishnavas to correct junior Vaishnavas (if those junior Vaishnavas are open to being corrected)--that is not criticism. However, in what mood is that correction done? Is it done in a harshly critical way, or in a loving, parental manner? Gurudev has said a number of times that the best way to correct is to praise: what you have done is good, but *this* way is even *better*.
