The sages addressing Suta Gosvami.

 

 

 

SB 1.1.22 - We think that we have met Your Goodness by the will of providence, just so that we may accept you as captain of the ship for those who desire to cross the difficult ocean of Kali, which deteriorates all the good qualities of a human being.

 

All through the sastra and Prabhupada's commentaries we are shown and taught how guru and disciple, teacher and student ae matched. This truly happens only by the grace of Krsna or the will of providence. If Krsna is willing for us individually we can see His devotee and not otherwise.

 

I also find it interesting the Suta Gosvami was not appointed by Sukadeva Gosvami or Maharaja Pariksit to be a link in the chain for us to hear the Srimad Bhagavatam. He became qualified and emowered to be such a link by his hearing and realization of what Sukadeva said as he listened in to their conversation.

 

And isn't listening in the main format for how transcendental truth comes to us? We listen in to Maitreya and Vidura, Rsabadeva and his sons etc. All through the SB we see the transcendental current coming down to us through hearing and speaking, sravanam kirtanam vishnu.

 

And yet some say Prabhupada left the question of who and how the parampara would carry on unclear.

 

We may remain unclear but it's not his fault as he gave us 60+ volumns explaining the method.
