mahak
Too bad we aged so rapidly, eh <!-- / user info --><!-- message, attachments, sig --><!-- message --> What is my facination with jaws? Maybe cause i saw rthe breaks back then from hookipa, and just wondered, like kaena point. Looks like a circus now, each wave probably costs at leats $1,000 to ride, ands no ones gonna ride theswe buggahs without dropping another $10,000 on a camara crew (I wouldnt, even if I was still 22). Gimme a crisp six footer in the middle of nowhere with only the seals and the crabs watchin. yo bro, mahaksadasa

mahak
A good verse for surfer devotees: Srimad Bhagavatam 1:1:23 "We think that we have met your grace by the will of Providence, and thus we accept you as the captain of the ship for those who desire to cross the dangerous ocean of Kali, which destroys all the good qualities of a human being." When I lived on Peahi Road, I could hear Jaws at night. I knew something amazing was going on. I remember seeing it from Hookipa, but I had a better sense of the place by hearing. mahak
On a rare occasion, pipeline had a fourth break, about two miles out. I remember the sound as clearly as the sound of the munitions on kahoolawe from kehei. I lived in a house on the beach at rocky point, in between pipeline and the quonsett hut, and at four in the morning, I heard the far away freight train. At dawn, of course the pipe was the place, as was rocky point and sunset, 20+, offsahore, one o dem daze, but I gazed thru binocs. Sometimes, rarely, the third break at pipe would be tackled by fools like sam oneill or old long boarders, but on this day, there was a fourth break. Id estimate 35 foot, same deep shape but quite a bit thicker. Out past dillingham, there was the place of legend, kaena point. Lots of ocean passing thru there. Yeah, get real mahak. I prefer a crisp six footer at malaaaya harbor (before the hydroplanes ruined everything). The funnest waves I ever rode were at tamarack, north san diego county, just south of trestles. Santa barbara county in the day as well, when I wasnt fighting the BoA at isla vista:eek:  haribol, ys, mahaksadasa PS I couldnt do the jet ski thing. Once, a decade ago, someone tried to get me to waterski, said it was just like surfing. Well, I surfed a lot, and never did I have the experiance of having a 350 horsepower enging trying to pull both arms out of their sockets. I liked the waves where ya just turn around and take the drop, no paddling involved. The smell of the jet skis would ruin the cerebral nature of the sport for me.
