suchandra
Those who live by the sword die by the sword....Isnt it far better to live by chanting and to die chanting Hari Om Thanks Shivaduta, good point, Gaudiya-Vaishnavas are nonviolent and even when 'sword' is mentioned, it's mentioned as an analogy. Prabhupāda: That is sharpening your weapons. That is also described. By serving the spiritual master, you keep your weapon always sharpened. And then take help from Krishna, the words of spiritual master sharpen weapon and yasya prasādad bhagavata…, and the spiritual master is happy, then Kṛṣṇa immediately will help. He gives you strength. Suppose you got a sword, sharpened sword. But if you have no strength, what will you do with the sword? Krishna will give you the strength, how to fight and kill the enemies. Everything is described. Therefore Caitanya Mahāprabhu (said) guru- kṛṣṇa-kṛpāya, make your weapon sharpened by the instruction of the spiritual master and then Krishna will give you strength, you’ll be able to conquer. This figurative explanation I think last night I did. Here is a verse, acyuta bala, acyuta bala. Is Puṣṭa Krishna here? Hari-śauri: (calls out) Puṣṭa Krishna? Prabhupāda: We are soldiers of Krishna, servants of Arjuna. Simply you will have to act accordingly, then you will finish up enemies. They have no power, although their number is hundred times. Just like Kurus and the Pāṇḍavas. They have no power, yatra yogeśvaraḥ krishnah. Keep Krishna in your side, then everything will be successful. Tatra śrīr vijayo bhūtiḥ. suchandra
Yes, this is what I meant when I said our life was like a war.All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Hare Krishna and Jai Nitai indulekhadasi Hopefully things will be peaceful with the new PM of Pakistan. Pakistan’s New "Chosen" Prime Minister By Muhammad Taimoor in Islamabad – March 24, 2008 Today we have a new Prime Minister of Pakistan; his name is Yusuf Raza Gillani. A feudal lord of Punjab province who started his political carrier during the era of dictator General Zia-ul-Haq when the General chose him as a member of his own made parliament. Now Yusuf Raza belongs to the late Benazir Bhutto`s party, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Sherry Rehman So we have a dictator in President Musharraf and now we have a feudal lord as his prime minister. In Urdu language there is a proverb," Fell from the sky, got stuck in a date tree". PPP is known as the most liberal party that claims to be the upholder of women’s rights. Forming the new government after winning elections in February, the party brought a female speaker of the parliament. PPP always backed Musharraf`s War on Terror and his agenda of "Enlightened Moderation" which is highly focused on the emancipation of women in Muslim society. In a speech Musharraf had said, "We will empower women so much that men will be left behind." However, a number of incidents show that bringing women more into public life may actually be intended to make them easier prey for the very wolves posing as warriors for their rights. A movie clip made available on the internet shows the new Prime Minister of Pakistan in a demonstration for restoration of judiciary is chanting slogans while leading the procession. On his left the lady is Sherry Rehman, a senior party member who was very close to Benazir Bhutto and has been tipped as a minister in the new government set up. Yusuf Raza Gillani with a successful effort manages to penetrate his hand under her arm. The other guy on the extreme left is another senior member of PPP also takes advantage of the moment. Apart from the new PM, we find others in the party with uncontrolled libidos. For instance in this picture (right) see how earnestly Sherry Rehman is being "rescued" by a party member. Yusuf Raza Gillani is a Prime Minister now but his past and present conduct pose a question mark for a country that has faced nearly a decade of savage despotism. The masters of the New World Order have successfully brought a feudal lord to rule a powerful country. However, the question remains: if Yusuf Raza Gillani can be so easily tempted to roughly gratify his lusts, how else may he be tempted? Can such a man be trusted to selflessly steer the ship of state without trying to gratify his own illicit desires? Here is the movie clip.
