Lorenzo Rubbo-Ferraro
Has anyone run the Vedabase successfully under WINE on Linux? I'm currently running it with QEMU, an emulator which requires Windows. Ideally it would be nice for it to work nativelly under WINE. I'm running Ubuntu 7.10, I've got the latest WINE, and 3 versions of the Vedabase. Versions 4.11f and 4.11fxp require the hardlock and the hardlock crashes on installation (api errors). The latest Vedabase, 2003.1, has safedisc v2.9 on it and although WINE can install programs with safedisc 2 on them the Vedabase loads the safedisc image, flashes up the "beginning installation..." then stops. The CD winds down and that's it. So, have you run any Vedabase versions successfully under WINE? Cheers, Lorenzo.
