The Jump to Death Sunday, 17 February 2008 http://jeremylee33.blogspot.com/2008/02/jump-to-death.html The Jump to Death I realised I haven't blogged for a long time, and for a good reason too. I have been so called "busy with work", but truth is I'm always exhausted from work, and I need a really long holiday. I often wonder if practicing medicine is what I want to do. The patients are often cranky, whinny, and always seeking for some reassurance of themselves and often I don't have the answers to everything. I decided to go to this temple over at Dunmurry this morning, about 15 minutes away from Belfast with my good friend. Apparently, tomorrow is Hare Krsna, where the Krsna devoters celebrate the reincarnation of the Supreme One by chanting the manteras and talk about His ways. We had some great vegetarian food, and the Krsna devoters were well known to be excellent vegetarian chefs. We spent a good 2-3 hours over there, chanting the manteras and be part of their ritual. I would say it's by far one of the most holy and peaceful ritual I've ever experienced. There was this calm atmosphere and the devoters were just humble and courteous to the guest. After that, we headed over to the cinema and watched Jumper. I'm not exactly a fan for Hayden Christensen, but since Rachel Bilson is there, it's hard not to watch it. The movie lacks plot, but the action and pace of the movie was fast. Some of the scenes and story weren't necessary at all, they could had deepen the movie a little, like talk more about the background of this so called "Jumpers", why do they exist and why were they being hunted. There is just too much emptiness in this movie that, I felt like watching a typical no brainer movie.
