The decision of the state administration a few years back to wind up a police camp, set up four decades ago, has only helped criminals have a free run in the area and incidents of snatching and molestation are frequent. The district administration sought land from the math recently for setting up a sub-police station at Mayapur. The math readily agreed to provide land free, but things didn't move further since then. A police camp alone can instill some sense of security among pilgrims, the math acharya said. n SNS </td></tr></tbody></table>
