Strong challenge for the Vaishnava movement - some real experts of the global women movement are targeting India: "The real reason for the sad state of Indian women is the continuation of the Vedic and Vaishnava religions, collectively referred to as Brahminism or `astika' Hinduism. These religions clearly and unambiguously justify and prescribe the crushing of women to the status of sub-humans.

The worst holocaust in human history was not that of the Jews or Africans, but was that inflicted on women by Brahmins."

50 MILLION MISSING (Indian Women): An International Campaign

Book: Genocide of Women in Hinduism

Introduction

I dedicate this book to my late younger sister, who was murdered as a result of a dowry-related incident while in full blossom of youth. Like most sisters, we were very close to one another, and her early death had a deep impact on me. This tragedy inspired me with the will to join the Indian feminist movement, and to eventually write this book. I hope that this work may save the lives of some of my Indian sisters and help reduce the suffering of Indian womankind. The reason for writing this book is purely humanitarian, so I have made this book available in the public domain. The more widely this book is read, the more innocent lives shall be saved. Please distribute it freely, and help save Indian women. Thank you in advance for your efforts.

After my sister's death, I joined the Indian feminist movement. I read the usual feminist literature, took part in the usual demonstrations in support of women's' rights, and attended the usual women's rights conventions. However, it soon dawned on me that the movement was quite hollow, and, despite several decades of existence, had failed miserably in its objectives. At the time I write this book, in June 1999, the status of women in India has sunk to its lowest ebb. After 50 years of Independence, cases of female infanticide, sati, dowry-related murders and crimes against women are on the increase, and in many cases are at their highest levels seen since the birth of the Indian Republic. I soon realized that the reason is that Indian feminism has not tackled the core of the evil, but has only

squabbled about superficial aspects of the problem. Western feminism was merely transplanted onto the subcontinent, and like many plants, had been unable to thrive in its new environment. It is only by tackling the root of the problem that this plant can grow. I hope that this book shall enlighten all Indian women as to the true reasons for the abject state of subjugation we are in.

Real Reason for Oppression of Indian Women

2hqdqw7.jpg

Everyone has heard the Brahmin male propaganda that the customs of sati, dowry, female infanticide and all other social suppression of women in India is the result of `social degeneration', 'corruption', or still worse, `foreign Christian or Muslim influence'. This is all one big lie designed to fool women. The reasons are far more deep-rooted, and are fully the result of Brahmin male conspiracies.

The real reason for the sad state of Indian women is the continuation of the Vedic and Vaishnava religions, collectively referred to as Brahminism or `astika' Hinduism. These religions clearly and unambiguously justify and prescribe the crushing of women to the status of sub-humans. Rather than being due to some kind of `corruption', the ghastly practices of sati, female infanticide, dowry and related acts are actually enforced by Vedic and Hindu scriptures. Although this may sound like some Christian or Muslim

propaganda, it is not. I have backed up my research with quotations from Vedic and Vaishnava scriptures, and have shown that these religions, and nothing else, are the main culprits behind the most anti-woman system the world has ever seen. Far from being `enlightened' and `progressive', Brahmanism is in fact the very fountain of the evils of sati, female infanticide, devadasism and dowry.

Future of the Womens' Movement

The result of my research is far-reaching. Instead of wasting time attacking trivialities, the Hindu religion itself must be attacked by Indian feminism. If Indian women are to become free, it is this faith that must tackled, and nothing else. No other religion, not even Islam or Christianity, burns its women, or slaughters one-tenth of all women each generation except Hinduism. Indeed, Brahminism is nothing but the legitimized genocide of women. In this book I have performed calculations showing how Brahminist men, and not

Communists or Nazis, have been responsible for the greatest genocide (namely that of women) in the history of the world. The worst holocaust in human history was not that of the Jews or Africans, but was that inflicted on women by Brahmins. A significant part of this holocaust occurred in India during thousands of years of Brahmanic tyranny. Even in the modern era, Brahmin-enforced laws lead to the deaths of more people each decade than Hitler killed during the entire Second World War. To stop this ongoing

holocaust, Indian women must unite with all those who oppose Hinduism, for an enemy's enemy is a friend. Indian feminism must unite with Islamism, Communism, Sudra Nationalism and Christianity in order to fight a form of savagery known as Hinduism. By necessity this strategy shall have to vary according to region. In South and Central India, Sudra Nationalism promises to uplift Dravidian, Dalit and Adivasi women on a healthy platform of

anti-Brahmanism. This pan-Negroist philosophy is thus a natural ally of Indian feminism. In North India, the allied Islamist ideologies of pan-Islamism and Mughalstanism have proven a potent forces for womens' liberation, witness the Mughal emperors' restrictions on Sati and female infanticide. Indian feminism should hence ally itself with these movements. Communism has helped women in West Bengal and Kerala, and is another natural ally for Indian feminism. Hence, by means of judicious realpolitik, the status of Indian women can be bettered.

Could be that books like mentioned above create even more opposition when there're statements like this:

"Because we are making brāhmaṇas from the mlecchas’ and yavanas’ section, they are protesting. Some of them are protesting that “Swami Bhaktivedanta is ruining Hindu religion.” The rascals, they do not know that I am acting strictly according to śāstra. The śāstras says… Kṛṣṇa says Himself, māṁ hi pārtha vyapāśritya ye ’pi syuḥ pāpa-yonayaḥ: [Bg. 9.32] “Anyone born in low-grade family.’ Pāpa- yoni, māṁ hi pārtha vyapāśritya, “if he takes to Me according to regulative principles,” vyapāśritya, “according to the principle,” te ’pi yānti parāṁ gatim, “he is immediately becomes eligible to be promoted,” parāṁ gatim, “the highest perfection of life.” One thing is pāpa-yoni. So there is no restriction that pāpa-yoni shall remain always pāpa-yoni. Why? They should be given enlightenment. That is brāhmaṇa-ism. Brāhmaṇa means liberal, and just the opposite word of brāhmaṇa is kṛpaṇa, miser. A brāhmaṇa should give chance to everyone, even to the pāpa-yoni, how to become brāhmaṇa. That is real brāhmaṇa. And the rascal who thinks that “I shall remain simply brāhmaṇa; others shall remain mlecchas and yavanas,” he is not brāhmaṇa; he is śūdra, because his mind is so crippled. He does not want to see others to become brāhmaṇa. He is miser, kṛpaṇa. Kṛpaṇaḥ phala-hetavaḥ.So our this movement is not for the kṛpaṇas. It is meant for the brāhmaṇas. We want to become ourself brāhmaṇa, and we want to make others also brāhmaṇa. Because there is need of brāhmaṇa at the present moment. The whole human society is now running by the śūdras, all śūdras. Kalau śūdra-sambhavaḥ. In this Kali-yuga, everyone is a śūdra. Maybe born of a brāhmaṇa family, but because he has no culture… "

Brahmin male conspiracies

How do you think they conspire? What tools of communication do they use to streamline their efforts?

I dont think it is the religion. It is just human nature which under these circumstances uses this particular religion as an excuse. Same worked in the past under the umbrella of Christianity or even non religious political systems like fashism. Even if no religion or particular political views are involved, simple economic reasons have been enough to wipe out 90 percent of the native American population some say up to 80 Million.

The problem is way deeper then some Brahmin male conspiracies in India.

Humans just tend to polarize and oppress what ever they believe to be weaker. Its an effective way to feel superior/good about oneself without having to put any effort into actually perfecting ones own personality and other aspects. Make the others bad or attach one self to a "better" religion or even a wining sportsteam and thats enough to feel great even if one just sits in front of TV eating Chips.

For example take great books like "A Passage To India" which is like "To Kill a Mockingbird" just with a happier ending. Both are incredible books and describe way better what I tried to disect above. Its really not any particular religion its just how we are. That doesnt mean that we should not try to overcome it. But the first step is to see the deep roots of the problem and not blaming it on some superficial thing like a group of Brahmin males.

Ah -- the eternal question:

Did god make man in god's image or did man make god in man's image?

I think the same logic applies to religion.

However, there is a valid point this book has in terms of permissibility. Mainstream Hinduism with its concept of 'maya' or illusion -- has made a lot of things permissible. It regards the line between life and death and right and wrong as all very nebulous -- so basically we can make up the rules to suit ourselves as we want to. There is no moral divide!

What is important however is to keep legal system of India away from and above all the irrationalities of religion -- and keep it focused on upholding the law.

If sati / dowry / female feticide/ female infanticide and murder in any other form are illegal --then the Indian courts MUST abide by the laws irrespective of what religions say.

Well said Rita... as I see...

if people want to be simplistic about an argument they shall be.

I thank Sita for sharing her research and I believe one should read deeper than her synoptic presentation. She named some things [religion among them] and it was, obviously, the tip of the iceberg, a rough concept.

She is simply telling not to look for external causes [stay away from typical finger pointing that solves nothing] but look next to you, in yourself, in your culture, in your ways and, yes, religion. And start working from there.

This sound piece of advice can be adapted to any situation, in any country, for critical assessment of any evil or injustice perpetrated onto our nextdoor neighbour or family by injust and unjust societies.

Of countries that perpetrate the hineous crime of female genocide I know, besides India, of Pakistan, the Horn of Africa and other African countries and China, last but not least! Have no idea of the role of religion in each and everyone of these entities, but religion is in many cases also the Law of the country...

I DO NOT want to define religion here, but read very well Sita's message! She has the right way and the right approach! Let's go the way of educating our sisters and then our brothers... to help with the cause and to make some progress - not just verbal!

One question though is -- how ready is India to self-introspect?

Over the last 10-15 there has been a rise in violent, reactionary responses to any kind of religion related issues -- particularly among the Hindu right wing.

They speak of their "religious sentiments" being hurt. I wonder what happens to their sentiments when women killed on the hour every hour. If a cow is slaughtered they take to the streets in a mob -- but when women are slaughtered (largely in hindu families) -- there is hardly a peep.

@Chandini

Can you please substantiate your claims instead of blaming so called Brahmanism and trying you show your ideology?

Every religion has been through oppression in one or other form... And by trying to blame everything on Hinduism doesn't sound credible and looks like a clear propaganda... And I am not sure whether you would have read about say other religions.... Even on this century women cannot drive in places like Saudi Arabia or cannot be seen with any one other than male blood relatives etc.. So dont blame everything on Hinduism and please try to be objective in your views

Religion is just a tool used / invented by man to suit his purposes... The change should come from deep within the minds of humans rather than tools like religion etc.. Because every Religion has been used as a tool of oppression for centuries in various ages... Rather than being used as a tool that would have given a moral direction people have misused religion to meet get their individual purposes and propaganda...

And Hinduism is NOT Brahminism alone.... It would be interesting to read your book if analysis is done on legitimate sources and objective thinking rather than a biased propaganda or viewing Hinduism through colored glasses

Wow. That was quite interesting.

I can sympathize with her loss of sister. Though, it appears as if she is trying to see the culture/religion in the way she would like to see it rather than fully understanding the depth of it and seeing it objectively.

Of course she wouldn't be so willing to accept the statement that those so-called Brahmana's that were sanctioning such immoral actions aren't in actuality real Brahmanas. For then her whole argument against the religion/culture falls apart.

Anyway though, in all honesty I don't know much about these things happening in India. Indian men killing women in their families etc. Woman genocide etc. An idea like a brahmana killing woman seems so far fetched to me. They don't kill animals but will kill a woman. That's so crazy. But maybe it is happening like this.

I should avoid these kinds of talks, I obviously haven't seen what this lady has seen. But I do feel that her book wouldn't be the most fair representation of the religion/culture etc.
