Harekrsnaharsha
Dear all, Hari Bol, Do not encourage Cow Slaughter and avoid red meat and educate people about the ill effects about cow slaughter its bad in spirituality side and also science side too. Killing a cow is like killing your own mother as such soon after you are done with your mother milk when you grow up you switch on the cow milk. Each and everything is usefull of the cow right from Urinene (Mutra to Gomaya the poop of the cow) The more you worship cow the more progress you achieve. As such Srimad Sankracharya Gokarnadish mandala swamiji Sri SRi Ragaweshwara is doin sooooooooooo much to stop culling the cow and restore the pure cow population to an high extent we should encourage and support him in all respects. Dont feed your stomach with flesh let live the animals and be a Vegetrain People who eat red meat should see the cows culled with so much troture cant even think of this and imagine. STOP KILLING COW FOR FILL UR STOMACH

STOP KILLING COW FOR FILL UR STOMACH Thanks - this cannot be repeated often enough! "Ahimsa means not arresting the progressive life of any living entity. One should not think that since the spirit spark is never killed even after the killing of the body, there is no harm in killing animals for sense gratification. People are now addicted to eating animals, in spite of having an ample supply of grains, fruits and milk. There is no necessity for animal killing. This injunction is for everyone. When there is no other alternative, one may kill an animal, but it should be offered in sacrifice. At any rate, when there is an ample food supply for humanity, persons who are desiring to make advancement in spiritual realization should not commit violence to animals. Real ahimsa means not checking anyone’s progressive life. The animals are also making progress in their evolutionary life by transmigrating from one category of animal life to another. If a particular animal is killed, then his progress is checked. If an animal is staying in a particular body for so many days or so many years and is untimely killed, then he has to come back again in that form of life to complete the remaining days in order to be promoted to another species of life. So their progress should not checked simply to satisfy one’s palate. This is called ahimsa." Garden Discussion on Bhagavad-gītā Sixteenth Chapter by His Divine Grace A. C. It might not be a presentation to be shown at the Sunday feast but Mark Bittman resembles the type of person who can influence our rascal politicians. Fact is that Vaishnava institutions have lost that battle. People in general have become callous, therefore you find that 6 mio Hindus in US - they defacto don't preach vegetarianism or cow protection - have all become meat-eaters or agree to cow slaughter industries. Their main focus having come to US was to escape from poverty in India even at the cost to pay huge taxes for supporting cow slaughter. Same with Hindus in UK, they even vote for meat eating at the first UK Hindu elementary school, called Krishna Avanti School. In India only 20% of present Hindus are vegetarians. Gurudeva Sivaya Subramuniyaswami: This is a very touchy topic, http://www.experiencefestival.com/a/Eating_Meat_in_Hinduism/id/51476 "Mass of people, they do not know what is hell because they are living in the hell already. That was the story. When hell was described, he was undisturbed, but when he was informed that there was no newspaper in hell then he became… “Horrible. How one can live there without newspaper?” So so far hellish condition is there now." Garden Discussion on Bhagavad-gītā Sixteenth Chapter by His Divine Grace A. C. RadhaMukunda
Semi-vegetarian what is that? You have vegans, lacto vegetarians, lacto ovo vegetarians. But semi-vegetarians? LOL You are either a vegetarian, or you are not. His case is good, animal rights and stuff. But his claims that animal fat is unhealthy is crap. Scientific research has proven that animal fat has no effect on cholestrol and that it is actually healthy. In the Charak Samhita it says, ghritaat ashta gunam tailam, mardane na tu bhakshane. Oil is eight times better than ghee, for massage, but not for eating. Transfat is vegetable oil. Even consumption of olive oil disturbes the omega-3-6 balance. Thirdly, he is blaming cow dung to cause polution. Cow dung is a sacred item. The title of this topic is "do not encourage cow slaughter," but this man admits he is never going to stop eating meat. He is only concerned about the environment, not the cows really.

Yet it shows how despaired people are about what the Vaishnava institutions accomplished the last 30 years of preaching in US and everywhere else. Instead of people understanding the message animal slaughter trippled to alone in US meanwhile 10 bn animals every year. 1972 September 7 : “Lord Caitanya wanted this, so by the parampara system through my Guru Maharaja and my humble self, the matter is handed over to you. Now it is up to you American boys and girls to do the needful.”
