mukeshraj
If a non-vegetarian does mantras(for example Vashikaran mantra) will it work? Are non-vegetarians allowed to do mantras?
Soma Juice
Yes they will work every spiritual practise works with devotion. But it will not work as good as if you where a vegetarian. i have had some good experiences when chanting Hare Krishna and i eat meat and is caught in the senses. And i also think chanting will give you the will power to drop meat eventually if you really devote your self.
Durgaputra
Vegetarianism is not mandatory for Saiva/Sakta. It is necessary for Vaishnava. Like Soma Juice says, once the mantra takes hold and one becomes more Satvic, meat eating may just drop off. But this also depends on the Guru parampara and not just on the mantra or the Devatha. Maharishi
Everybody can do mantras. But the more pure you are, the better they will work. And eating meat or fish or egg or using alcohol or sigarettes are impurities. You don not have to give up these things, but then you will have to put more effort to get the same mantra results.
