Guest guest
I think I have stumbled upon something major, but my health is so poor that I doubt that I will live long enough to fully confirm it. The idea of death isn't bothering me, but I need to leave this for other people to work on. It looks like we are seeing two time dimensions, where we have thought we were seeing only one, and it is easy to distinguish the two in meditation or other mental states. If my understanding is correct, then when we look " inside " , we see one time dimension while when we look " outside " , we see another time dimension. The different time dimensions also group together what we think of as our self and what we think of as other. It does seem that paying attention to the two time dimensions at the same time, knowing them for what they are, does begin to reduce my sense of duality of inside and outside. How far this reduction of my sense of duality could go if I had time to continue to meditate on the two time dimensions, I do not know. Below is some background and further explanation: Some scientists think there might be more than one time dimension. If so, then it is possible that we perceive the two time dimensions in different ways, as follows: When we feel our own time flow, that is a perception of time dimension A. When we perceive time flowing outside ourselves, as for an object outside ourselves, that is a perception of time dimension B. Reason: One puzzle occurs when an object accelerates. According to the Theory of Relativity, the time flow of the accelerated object slows down. Since oneself and the accelerated object now have different time flows, one might think that that decoordination would make it impossible to still perceive the accelerated object. Yet we can perceive it. One possible explanation would be that there is a second time dimension which continues to flow at the same rate for oneself and the accelerated object. That then would provide something stable through which the information could continue to pass which would make it possible for oneself to still be perceiving the accelerated object. Therefore, when we were perceiving the accelerated object, we would be using the second time dimension to do so. But when we are strictly perceiving only our own time flow, that would be the first time dimension. Jim
