Guest guest Posted September 24, 2008 Report Share Posted September 24, 2008 The breadth referred to as swara should alternate between ida and pingala ie left and right nostril approx every hour.Before change over both nostrils flow equally when sushmna is active.The commencement at the begining of the day left or right varies with lunar variations ie dark fortnight and bright fortnight.The 5 tatwas flow can be identified by blowing the breadth on a mirror and idetify from the pattern.I am unable to present patterns here.Keep a log of the breadth and observe.Flowing of one nostril is not healthy.It can be changed by lying on the opp. sideIf u lie on left right will be active and vice versa.More of this you can learn from swara yoga .there are many books.It is very useful knowledge.For example when stepping out of the bed in the morning step with that leg whose swara is active. Precaution for this situatuion 1. Low diet - sadhak take low diet. morning evening. 2. take cold thing like icecreame and cold milk not hot. 3. pranayam - pranayam change sadhak mechanism then sadhak not face gas trouble gas passed hip. Guest guest Posted September 27, 2008 Report Share Posted September 27, 2008 Jai Gurudev No doubt ensuring solar flow in the night and lunar in the day as pointed out by my gurubhai makes one a perfected yogi.The most important text is shiva swarodaya which deals at length on this.It says shshankam varayedrathrow diva varyo diwakaraha itabyasratho nithyam sa yogi natra samshayaha. that means one who reularly avoids flow of ida or lunar nadi at night and pingala in the day becomes a perfect yogi. Some people assume that their Kundaliani is awaken thru practice. Param Pujya Gurudev has clearly stated in the Kundalaini Naad Braham (Published by Guru Dham and available at Jodhpur/DElhi and Shivirs) your Mooladhar Chakra can be awaken by doing Mantra Sadhana/Yoga Sadhana and has prescribed Bhasrika Pranayam (not the same as Swami Ramdev ). Guest guest Posted October 1, 2008 Report Share Posted October 1, 2008 - First of all IDA is moon and Pingala is sun.It is mentioned vice versa.You can easily make out when sushumna is active.When left nostril ia active ida is flowing and when right is active it is pingala.You can always feel breadth flows more in one nostril.the change occurs between ida and pingala every hour or an hour and twenty min to be almost precise.During this change over period you will find both nostrils equally active.This is when sushumna is active. Kundali jagran is no joke.one has to keep the body and mind pure and devote full attention.Any practice without guide can be fatal.However one of the deciples of HH swami Shivanandji of Rishikesh after a lot of practice approached the guru for help.All that was needed was for swamiji to plcae his hand on his crown and he could see all chakras shining as decribed in texts .A learned Guru can help a deciple provided the deciple is fit and ready and can withstand the process which only a sad guru can know.I feel like laughing when I see ads proclaiming they will raise the kundalini in one day course ,5min course etc.Hathyoga, spl. practices and Pranayama all combine can lead to kundalini jagran but takes time. this condition itself. i have not made any efforts to attaining it. i practising pranayam, meditation in morning and i leave bed before sunrise . i walk and play for one and half hour in evening and meditation for one hour in morning and evening each. i plays in aggeression football and bollyball daily. sometimes i run for 20 minutes. my ida(moon) runs in throught day and pingla right(surya) runs throught night. sometimes ida (very rare) runs in night. my work is not hard . this condition of my swaras i got effortlessly.i would like to clear here that my swara are got purified after practising meditation .i remain aware of my breath daily at maximum. there is littele bit difference observed in moon and surya swara.i cheked that surya swara is also gonig on but moon remain dominent apka bhai than interfering withit like eating when pingala is flowing.Continuous flow of ida duringthe day can cause indigestion and related disease.It is also known assara by siddhas of south.There is one more
