blue vitriol is a poision of phosphorus and also composition of acid of sulpher

and copper.

in the alchemy tutth owns high importance, tutth is also known as kansanil,

tamragarbh, sutaki kanth, haritashan, nila ganj, tutiya, kat, kabod, blue

vitriol, copper sulphate, neela thotha.

the very basic use of tutth in alchemy is to obtain pure copper in alchemy for

to use in various processes. aprat from this, its also used to prepare various

gutikas ( pills) and metal changing.

while dealing with tutth, everyone requires enough care as it leaves metal and

in some process, toxic fumes too which can cause highly toxic effects if enter

in the body so evryone should do the experiments related to tutth under proper

guidence of component scholar only. tutth is even elixir if used in proper way.

shodhan ( purifying) :

1)cook the tutth powder in tava or in small earthen pot with high heat or

fumes. It would be converted into reddish with ash.

2)take water in pot. tie tutth in a cloth. place it in water.when properly

mixed, cook it on medium fume. when water is burnt , pure copper sulphate

remains behind.

seperating copper :

1 part of tuth, 2 part of salt. mix them and add water . place the mixture in

aluminium vessel. copper will be seperated, should be applied for washing.

Tutth gutika:

take iron vessel. place 10gm. salt. 10gm. tutth on salt then 10.gm mercury on

tutth, on it place 10.gm of tutth again and finely 10 gm. of salt on tutth. this

should be covered with earthen pot. put some weight on the earthen pot so that

do not move. now fill the water in iron vessel ( approx 2 and half liters) cook

till water remains nearly 500 ml. now remove water from pot. mercury should be

took out. now , mercury is required to sieve in a linnen. thus the gutika will

remain at last. this gutika is known as tutth gutika and can be weared around

neck to prevent deseases. it is also useful for to cure eye deseases. this

gutika has much significance in alchemy as in many processes , this gutika is

used for preparation of silver and gold.
