Guest guest
Hi, I tried the following procedure and was successful in attaining the Khechari Mudra within one month. There is absolutely NO need to do any surgical procedure of cutting the lower tendon of the tongue (frenulum). For the benefit of entire group lets start from scratch. 1) Talabya Mudra This is a very important exercise and must be continued throughout the duration of practice. Touch the tip of the tongue to the back of the upper teeth (Tongue touching the upper palate). Try to open the mouth keeping the tongue on similar position to create a suction cup effect. While pressing the tongue against the roof of the mouth, the bottom jaw is lowered to stretch the frenulum . NOTE :- The tongue is NOT turned backwards in this process. 2) With a piece of clean cloth hold the tip of your tongue and stretch it forward, sideways up and down. Try to stretch the tongue so that it touches the tip of your nose. Go to step 3 when the tongue touches the tip of your nose. 3) Using your fingers try to push back the tongue towards the Naso-pharynx cavity. (Use index fingers of both hands ) a) Initially try to touch the soft palate with the tip of tongue. b) Then push a bit further to touch the uvula ( small gland like structure that can be viewed in mirror). c) Upon further practice the tongue will slip into the Naso-pharynx cavity. Initially one would be needed to support the tongue in this position using his/her fingers. Later on this support will not be needed. Initially there will be a feeling of discomfort when the tongue enters the cavity and there will be lot of salivation , but this will cease within a week or so. The entire practice will not take more than 15-20 mins a day . One may choose to perform the activity twice daily. Even though you are able to achieve the Khechari Mudra keep practicing the first two techniques. Hope this helps.
