Jai Gurudev,

The only information I have is,

If the trunk is turned towards right side of lord himself, is very strict, and any mistake in either pooja or anything you do, will not be tolerated. On the other side, the benefits are much faster.

If the trunk is turned towards the left side of lord himself, its a mild nature lord form, and mistakes are forgiven, and we do not have much tentions.

Generally only at temples that too occasionaly we find idols with trunk on right side. Normally at home, left sided trunk lord idol is preferred for general pooja etc.

Namaste,

The trunk turned to the left side of the Lord Ganesh is very common and right

sided is rare. It is one of the important forms for the persons who are in the

path of tantric sadhana. For the common people who are trying to worship the

Bhagavan need not give so much importance. I am in the worship of the Bhagavan

for many years. Without any hesitations do what best way you like to worship

him. He is there to bless you.
