Guest guest
To chant large amount of mantras, rosaries made of 108 beeds are used (in some situations, these can be made of 15 or 27 beades). The rosaries or malas, as they are called in Hindi, can be made of gems, rudraksh, tulasi, shell, lotus seed, silver, sandal, grass root, sphatik and pearl. In some sadhanas, rosaries made of human finger bones are also used; but, such sadhanas are out of the scope of this group. An acceptable rosary must have these qualities:1: It should be made of any one type of beeds. Only rudraksha and sphatik can be mixed togather.2: For different sadhans, different rosaries made of different type of beeds should be used.3: The beeds should be of similar sizes.4: The rosary should have 108 beeds excluding the Sumeru (separator).5: The string used should be created by a virgin brahmin girl.6: The string can be made of gold or silver.7: The rosary should be consecrated.Questions, comments and additions are welcome.Tantra Shaktimantra_tantra_yantraOm Ayeim Hreem Kleem Chamundayei Vichche Photos - Get your photo on the big screen in Times Square
